I know that it is frowned apon to bring food into the parks. Does this include BB. We will be traveling with our son, daughter and there families. I suggested taking a picnic lunch to BB as I know they're on a tight budget. Now I'm worried because I'm not sure if it's allowed?

Last July when we went to Typhoon Lagoon, we saw families taking coolers into the parks. No one was stopped. Wish we would have done this! We plan to take our lunch the next time we go to a Disney Water Park. I'm guessing that you cannot not take glass containers (nor alcohol).

FYI - you can take some food into the regular Disney parks - just not a huge cooler. We've packed snack items & Water in our backpack and have never had a problem.

We took a big cooler to Typhoon Lagoon with drinks, chips, sandwiches etc. It is also a good spot to keep your keys etc. They don't want you to bring in any glass, but I don't even remember them looking that carefully at the cooler.
We also took in water bottles and crackers, fruit to the parks in our backpacks and no one commented on that when they looked in them either!

Coolers are officially permitted in the water parks. No glass and no alcoholic beverages.

Unofficially food is permitted in the theme parks if you don't go overboard.

We went to BB and brought in a cooler with everything..however, they did look through it and did take out the jar of mayo. We didn't know you couldn't take in glass. It certainly saved us some $$.

A picnic lunch at BB is perfect. Pack a cooler or just a sack. Just don't bring in glass bottles (and I think alcohol, although they sell that). They also have a refill mug that can be used the entire day if you don't want to worry about a full cooler of ice.

Could you give an approximate cost for this? TIA

Does anyone know if the waterparks still have the meal vouchers? Last year we got meal vouchers at BB for around $11 per person. They were similar to the ones offered at AK except they included refills on your mug.

We had one several years ago- $10.00, I think. Definately worth it. My kids loved the iccees.

We also always take a packed lunch to the water parks. Funny, but PB,&J, tastes really good to me, after a few days of restaurant food.

We took a small soft sided cooler--it was great for drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. Only thing that you cannot bring in is glass. I would have several people bring one in--one for drinks and things that need to stay cool and the other for chips and stuff. Have fun.

Last time we went, we brought our cooler in. They check it to make sure you do not have any glass items. There were plenty of other coolers around, too.

You can also take your water park refillable mug back and just purchase a sticker for $5.

I am so glad I read that - how awesome! We have one from BB from 4 years ago and I almost got rid of it the other day, but I don't think I did - hooray!

I bring a small lunch bag cooler to the parks each year and have never had a problem. I usually buy the frozen PB&J's and some juice boxes for my son. I have never had a problem and the sandwiches are the same ones that Disney sells. I pay the same price for 1 box as you would for 1 sandwich at Disney.

We always pack a lunch for the water parks. We bring our refillable mugs and pay $5 for a new sticker :moped:

Not only is bringing in lunch a great way to save money, for me it's more convenient too!!

I hate padding around in a wet bathing suit looking for a meal or trying to have my daughter sit at a table and eat. One of the best meals we had in our 10/2003 trip was our sandwiches in Typhoon Lagoon. It was so nice not to have to stand in line or wait.

As posted earlier we do bring our lunch to the water parks. We bring lots of snacks, too. We still end up buying ice creams and at least one turkey leg for the pirate: s. I bought the plastic sandwich containers (the hard ones - not the zip locs). Then put the already made sandwich in each container and mark whose it is. If someone gets hungry they find their container and eat when they need it - although when one person starts eating usually everyone else does, too. The sandwiches don't get wet and crushed this way, too.
We still get the meal in a bucket sometimes if I don't pack enough (heaven forbid  ) for the kids. We would actually eat a meal there if they had a 'nice' restaurant - but this does make up for those days when we have the real expensive lunches or dinners.
The refillable mugs are a life saver! We have two or three already. :flower:

We have never been to the water parks but plan on going this summer. What is a "meal in a bucket" and how do the mugs work? Are they like the hotel mugs ?
Thanks.

The Meal in a Bucket is a kids sandwich chips and a drink served in a real sand pail with shovel. It was around $5  One of the few good deals. The mugs are like the hotel mugs. They have a stick on bar code one for each day of the week (i.e. mon, tue, wed...) they are good at either water park. The mugs cost $10 the first day and you can get a new sticker on future days for $5 (i.e. bring the mug back and just buy a bar code sticker)
There is a good deal on ice cream at TL it is the "Garbage Pail Sundae" it is served in the same sand pail as the kid meal. The pail is filled with soft server ice cream covered in toppings and mounded over with whipped cream. It easly feeds 2-3 people. We buy them every time we go to TL ($7.69 last year). :jumping1:

Grand Canyon where did you get the baby countdown--I would ove to have one since mine is due in September. Thanks
