Hi All,
Apparently, Disney is offering a pre packaged picnic at the Animal Kingdom. I don't have all the details, but it appears their are 2 tiers to the type of picnic you can purchase.

There's rotissarie chicken, ham, wraps, and grinders to choose from for your picnic. You purchase the type of food you'd like and take it with you to a picnic spot located in the park.

Prices will be based on the tier you choose and the number of people you need to feed in your picnic. Prices can range anywhere from $24.99 all the way to $54.99.

This sounds like fun, and what a great place to have a picnic. Eating next to the Tree of Life sounds very appealing; except when it's 95 degrees outside. :)

This sounds like a grand idea :thumbsup2 a nice to change to the usual CS locations.

However there will probably now have to be picnic etiquette for people :lmao:

This sounds fabulous! I can't wait to do it! I think you get a lot of food for the price as well. I wonder where the picnic spots are?

I think it sounds like a really nice idea. I like the idea of a picnic especially in such a lush setting. I would love to hear from someone who gets a chance to try it.

This sounds like a really neat idea. Will have to keep it in mind for next year.

Maybe Kevin will do a dinning review of the picnic.

Hmmm, maybe, but the podcast crew as a whole aren't big AK fans.
Myself, I think it sounds like a wonderful idea for a family. I happen to love AK, but since it's just DH and I, the food options are more than we would eat.
Instead, we will sit at the Dawa Bar with an extra spicy Bloody Mary and people watch. :rotfl:

Fail.

I don't get it. You stand in line in the morning to place your order at a special podium in the front of the park at least 2 hours before you want to eat. Then you go stand in another line at Tusker House to get all your food in a bag (albeit an attractive bag). Make sure you've kept your receipt because you will need it to get your order. Then you go wander around to find an open place to eat you picnic. If you're on the dining plan, its an adult entitlement for each person the lunch serves. How's that going to work if you're a family with kiddos? Probably not the best bet for people on a dining plan.

If it comes with a can of corn, I'm really gonna lose it! :lmao:

It just sounds like a lot of work. A good first draft maybe, but IMHO, I don't think this one will fly.

Fail.

The pick-up location is at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery.

I agree, not fun waiting around for all that. I am way to HOT when at AK to deal with all that LOL!

I want to see where the pinic spots are though!

Somebody on one of the other boards suggested you could order this for those nights when AK closes at 5 and just grab it on your way out of the park for dinner back at your resort. I can see where that would be a good option for some people.
