Question for those that have used picnic area outside the parks.

Is this area covered? With the rain this weekend, we are trying to plan for a team lunch for the girls in between performances. Trying to figure out some healthy options and someone suggested bringing some sub sandwiches and salads and such. With 19 girls and families, they all won't fit in my room on site. :)

Thanks in advance for any info.

The picnic area is not covered. You could split pizza and salads at Pizza Port, but not all of the seating there is covered, so it can get busy when it's raining. Earl of Sandwich has a covered patio, but I'm not 100% sure it's a solid cover. I think it is. Are they performing in the parks or at the convention center?

This weekend performances are at the Hyperion in DCA. We don't have a long break, maybe just over 2 hours...Guess we will leave it up to the parents to be on their own with their girls. I think we will hit WWS and rest in the room.

WWS would have been my suggestion but I know 19 kids plus parents wouldn't fit on a rainy day with all the other guests. Does Disney offer a backstage area? But splitting up is probably the best plan if it's raining.

No not really. We will be backstage for parts, we have all these instructions about NO photos and such while in these areas. I know some of the warm up areas were to possibly have been outside as the Comp folks told us if there is inclement weather we may have alternate meet areas and such.

I jinxed us by changing my ressie to stay onsite "in case" of weather a month ago. I bet if i was staying off site it would have been sunny!

Thanks for the info though.
