What kind of thing do they serve for dinner on the ship for adults and Children? Becuase i am a very picky eater, one of the worst out there. Also do you think they would let me order off the kids menu even tho im 14? Thanks!

You can't possibly be pickier than my ds who eats 6 things:

1) hamburgers (ketchup only, sometimes without the bun, especially if it has "seeds")
2) chicken strips or nuggets
3) cheese pizza, hold the green flakes for decoration
4) fish sticks
5) steak fingers
6) pb & j (thank God)

He LOVED the Mickey Boat (he was just 5 when we first went and 6 on our 2nd cruise). He ate chicken or pb&j each evening. They served the uncrustables at dinner, but triple deckers (pb&j) through Room Service (I think it is uncrustables only now tho).

He did occasionally have fruit, ate a lot of bread at breakfast (and Mickey waffles) and A LOT of ice-cream.

check out Dave's site for menus www.dcltribute.com - I think the kid's menus are on there? Anyone (even an old mom like me) is allowed to order off the kid's menu

Hey listen,

They have not met a picky eater they can not accomodate...and they don't care whether you eat from the children's menu or not...

Last year my 14 year old daughter ordered a plain piece of chicken breast, with a different vegetable then what was offered and a different potato... she was a little embarassed to do this but I encouraged her to get exactly what she wanted...

She was very relieved when our waiter agreed with me and told her she could have ANYTHING she wanted...just ask, he said...

So don't worry...you can get anything you want

On the other hand, don't be afraid to try new things... I did talk my daughter into trying a few things (lamb and camembert fritters...which is just a fancy way of saying fried cheese) and she was surprised to find that she ended up loving them!!!

Don't fret over this one!!!

 Ali

You may order from the adult menu, the children's menu or pick and choose what you want from each menu. You can even ask for something that is not on the menu. If it is available on the ship the server will get it for you.

Have a great cruise.

Well, even my DS ... who is pickier than yours ... was happy. He will eat
1/ chicken strips or nuggets
2/ plain hot dog with no burn marks or cuts on it with no bun in sight
3/ pepperoni pizza

That is it.

He had the chicken every day for lunch & dinner. They even learned to keep everything else off the plate so he wouldn't get upset. He had pancakes every morning. When they didn't have them on the buffet the last morning, I ran down to the dining room & asked our servers if they could help me get him something he would eat. They brought out a huge plate of pancakes with a cover so that I could carry them up to him. :)

I am a picky eater and didn't have a problem. I never did order off the children's menu, though one night I wanted to order the fried cheese from the kids menu. The waiter told me they had one on the adult menu that was a different cheese, and encouraged me to try it. I didn't like it and would have been happier with the one from the kids menu. Next time I will stick with what I want. He didn't give me a hard time, but was giving me suggestions for foods to try similar to what I liked.

Whe my DD was little we had to order, "Cheeseburger -- cheese, ketchup and bun only -- no meat" I can't tell you how many "cheeseburgers" got returned!

At least our little princess: eats regular cheeseburgers -- meat, cheese, ketchup and bun only -- now.

Order exactly what you want on the cruise.

and our 12 yr. old DS was too embarrassed to ask for a
children's menu so every night he ordered the caeser salad
(from Animator's Palette) - that was his dinner, with lots of
bread - no problem for our server Juan. When he wasn't eating
caesar salad for dinner he was eating pizza - there is never,
ever a problem on Disney cruise ship - in fact, one night I
had to have a Mickey bar for dessert - not even a second glance
from our server. ENJOY.

My DS,13 is a very picky eater. I do not remember which dinning room we were in, but he did not like anything!!:( Our waiter remembered that from the previous evening's meal that he liked shrimp. Without asking or making a big deal, our waiter brought our ds 3 orders of Shrimp Melody. :p Ds was in heaven.

Do not worry, you will not go home weighing less then when you walked onboard!! :teeth: Ask and let your waiter know your likes and dislikes.

I am 31 years old and a very picky eater. As far as meat goes, i like Chicken, hot dogs pepperoni... every night I wanted just a a plain chicken breast with plain mashed potatoes (they were the best) and I never ordered off the adults menu. I ordered off the Childrens menu for Appetizers, never a problem. The first night I ordered the fruit from the kids menu, he brought it out, I didn't really like the fruit that was on there. He asked what was wrong and I said I didn't like the fruit and he asked what kind I liked and I said well I be honest I like banana's and Maraschino cherries. He came back with a bowl of the cherries and every night when we got to the table there was a bowl waiting for me! They were good. So ask for what you want!

My 7 yr old DS lived on PB&J our entire cruise. Lunch and dinner. Plus fruit "with extra grapes" in other words bring the fruit but I will only eat the grapes...lol Our server realized it was grapes only and by dinner the second night had the grapes waiting for him at the table every night. But he did love the ice cream at Scoops too and the cookies from room service.

Yes, the servers are very accomodating about special wants at dinner. One thing to keep in mind though. Even though they can bring you just about anything, they have a very hard time with items that are pre-made. For example, one of the appetizers (I think in Triton's and Lumieres) is a wrap that has an avacado paste on it. My DD didn't want the avacado and asked if she could get it plain. Those wraps are pre-made, so they couldn't make one without. Turned out you couldn't hardly taste the avacado so she ate it anyway. They can and will leave off the sauces, but they usually can't leave out an ingredient.

You can also check the menus at Dave from Marietta's websight to see if anything tickles your fancy. The site is www.dcltribute.com

Have a great trip!

I have a DD who will eat anything and everything, and a DS who is very fussy about everything.

Both loved the food, one day I was worried that the Kids club would take him to lunch, i thought there would be a problem, as we know what he will have, better than he does!

The report from by Daughter was that he was fussy and the server went through everything they could do, he choose some pasta which wasnt on any menue and 'plain', no herbs etc

He had it, loved it and asked for it again at dinner.

They also were given Mickey ice cream bars every night.

There is something for everyone!

Hi Ali

My DD will be 14 for our next cruise (May 2005) and she has already informed me that she wants to eat from the Kids Menu - cos she loves the pizzas.

I have a whole family of picky eaters, myself included, and there was ALWAYS something on the menu that we could each eat. If there is an entree that we liked, but maybe we didn't like the sauce that came on it, they had no problem adjusting for us. They are soooo willing to accomodate you. Don't hesitate to ask. They even made a meal for my DH that wasn't even on the menu!

My DS (almost 6 on our last cruise) had a cold for all 3 days of our first cruise and the only thing he wanted to eat was the chicken soup with Mickey shaped pasta. On the second night it wasn't on the menu, but our server made a special trip to the other galley to get it for him. They really will do anything in their power to make you happy. :D Normally he's an adventurous eater (now 8 years old). He likes lobster, crab, shrimp, calamari, escargot, all kinds of fish and will try anything you offer him.

Alicia890...you can't possibly be any worse than I am...not only am I a picky eater, but I'm 30! Unfortunately, I never grew out of it. I have MANY food allergies, and a terribly strong gag reflex...meaning that if I dont' like the food, it aint goin' down, or stayin' down! You can order anything you like from any menu offered that evening...and remember, you can always just get a steak or chicken breast if nothing else sounds good....the CM's are there to make you happy, and make this a fabulous vacation for YOU! They will go the extra mile to make sure that you have something to eat.
