I'm going on my 4th trip this November, and my DH and DD6's second, and we're interested in trying the 50's PTC. I've always avoided it, and the others are leery as well, because we're pretty picky eaters  We've got our veggies we like, we have our veggies we hate, and that's it, for example . . . no amount of teasing is going to get ANY of us to scarf down a single grean bean or a pea. Now I know things like "clean your plate" and "eat your veggies" are all part of the act, and we REALLY get into participating in such things when we can (I'm the annoying shrieker-type at Indy Jones to get on stage :hyper: ) , but how far do they push it there? Will we regret going if we're not hungry enough to eat a horse or the side dishes are just not our thing?

Um you better skip it! You have a chance that you will get a waiter that will let it slide- but 9 times out of 10 they will humiliate you. My brother was 24 and 6 foot2 and they made him eat his greenbeans while they did the airplane. Of course you can order something without green beans and that would be my choice for you.
Oh and if you try to hide them you will be sorry :rotfl2:

We LOVE 50's PTC. We are pretty picky ourselves, but that was one of our favorite meals during our stay. The green beans were actucally pretty good, but if you all do not like them at all just pull "Mom" (your waiter/waitress) aside and tell them that while you don't wanna ruin the act but your family has allergies or something...they will go easy on ya!

Just a word of advice...if you don't eat your veggies, don't order dessert! Or better yet, go ahead...It is toooooo funny:lmao:

Oh ya! I HATE HATE HATE green beans. :crazy2: I ordered the fried chicken that did come with them. I figured I could pawn them off on one of my kids. ;) Wrong. The waiter told me to eat up and I just couldn't choke them down, tried to hide them, and my kids tattled. (nice!)

He took my plate and i thought that was the end of it. Wrong again!! He brought me a plate of green beans with whipped cream and sprinkles and a cherry and expected me to eat them! I wound up standing in a corner, holding a sugar packet against the wall with my nose while everybody teased me!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It was so funny & my kids got a big kick out of it, but I learned - NEVER order ANYTHING you don't plan to eat when dining at Prime Time!!!! :teeth:

50's PTC can be a lot of fun -- if you are prepared for it and are "into" that sort of ribbing. And yes, most of the servers can really "ride" you about cleaning your plate -- especially all the veggies. (You could always ask when you check-in to get a laid-back server, but then that sort of defeats the purpose of eating there.)

I'd give it a try. It might turn out to be the best meal you have on vacation.

:rotfl: Maybe we'll drop by for a sit-down afternoon snack instead. if they want to rib us for not finishing a sundae, I think we can deal with that a bit more than airplanes of *wrinkles nose* green beans and standing in a corner because one of us couldn't finish a huge slab of meatloaf and such.

They do substitute just about anything. Don't like green beans? Ask for something else. My husband's meal was toted as coming with mashed potatoes which he absolutely HATES. He asked for Freedom fries instead and Mom said "well, of course honey, as long as you are gonna eat 'em". My excuse for not finishing the huge portion I had was "bring me a basin and then we'll talk".
