I am an extremely picky eater! My FI and I would love to try all the different restaurants that WDW has to offer, however, after looking over some of the menus I'm not sure I like some places. If I were to go to a restaurant and order something, but didn't like the vegetable that comes with it will they allow me to change it to something I do like? I'm even thinking of ordering off of the children's menu if it's allowed! Would they allow me to do that? Thanks a lot for any feedback! :bride:

We've done both-you can substitute and you can order off the kid's menu (DSsises and I both did this at HBD). We had to pay for our drink though. :goodvibes

I'm an extremely picky eater (check out my dining reviews for restaurant choices that seem to be picky eater friendly).

I will say that I've only had 2 issues in all of our WDW trips. One in my favorite restaurant (Coral Reef - would not allow a substituion of the brocoli that comes with the steak dinner - I just eliminated the extra veggie) and Sci Fi - 3x the charge of the child price for a cheeseburger :faint:

My recommendation would be to try new food and learn to enjoy it. There is a world of things to experience and being picky shuts you out of it. I really thank my parents for making me try things when I was young.

This isn't a 2 year-old that only eats chicken fingers for goodness sake. This is an adult that knows the foods she prefers and is asking questions to try to ensure that she enjoys her dining experience.

I'm extremely picky but not because I haven't tried different kinds of foods, it is because I'm an adult and know the foods that I prefer.

The old "try it you may like it" is one of the most frustrating comments for a picky eater :(

On my first visit to WDW, I was given extremely good advice from a CM at The Land food court.

"The only thing that you absolutely cannot get at a WDW restaurant is that which you do not request."

My husband is unbelievably picky and he's never had to eat food that he didn't like, nor has he gone hungry due to pickiness. We've never been surcharged for his requests for substitutions.

My daughter requested children's plate at Le Cellier when she was about 12 years old. The waitress let her have the child's plate, but was very obnoxious about it. What a waste of energy on the waitress' part.
