This will our 1st visit on site to WDW ....so we´ve never dealt with the Disney Dining Plan!

This is the plan so far....

We will be staying at the BWI , Club Level. My husband and our 2 sons , ages 7 and 11 , will be the cast . Our DD will not be with us ( she´ll be on an 8th grade grad trip in WDW too , will be staying with group no with us).

I´ve opted to stay at club level in order to have a nice breakfast evey morning and to be able to use our credits for Signature meals .

My main question: my 11 yr old , sadly enough, is a very picky eater (my other 2 eat anything!). I see he will be paying for the adult plan as he is 11. He will be happy with the kid´s meals and it would be a HUGE waste to use adult credits on him.

Truthfully , my 2 boys could share a kid´s meal and be happy. Could we order 2 adult meals , one kid´s meal and save the other credit for Signature meals? We could top their meals off with the Club level offerings.

Any suggestions on best way to deal with this scenario?

Thanks!

Yes, you are allowed to "share" among people on the same dining plan. My Mom and I often ordered one appetizer (paid OOP), one entree, and one dessert and shared it among the two of us. We were both on the same reservation, so we were allowed to share. (So, if your daughter met up with you for a meal, you would not be allowed to use a credit to purchase a meal from her. I also do not think you supposed to "share" your meal with her if you're using a credit to purchase it because she's not on the plan with you.)

Sharing meals is a great way to save enough credit to go a Signature restaurant. Just make sure to save the "adult" credit (adult and child credits are tracked separately). You can also opt to purchase a second child's meal OOP if one is not enough to feed both children.

The last time the kids and I went we were on the DDP. All 3 of mine are picky eaters, often one would not order anything at a restaurant. The waiters/waitresses all offered other options and side dishes to try to get the non-eating kid to eat something, it was very sweet. My oldest was an "adult" but usually wasn't interested in the adult meals, he was always allowed to order a kids meal if he didn't like the adult options.

Good to hear we have some flexibility as far as options go. I´ve been checking out the options and looking at menus in order make ressies ahead of time.

After looking at menus , I am 100% sure my 11 yr old would choose items from kid´s menus...the adult menus will not appeal to him , except for perhaps at a steakhouse.

Thanks!

Unless your kids have extremely small appetites, I don't see how a 7 and 11 y/o could share a Disney kids meal. Most of those meals are not enough food my dd7 and definitely not enough for my ds9. I would buy the 11 y/o a kids meals and save his credits for later.

FYI, your 11 yr old can order an "adult" size portion of the kids meal offered at the restaurant you are eating at....if they like anything.

Most places do this, so it is another option for you if this child likes the kiddie menus better.

Both my sons eat surprisingly little! They tend to eat every three hours , smaller portions (knid of grazers , I suppose...).

We´ll check out portion size the first day , and as suggested possibly order an additional kid´s meal and pay out of pocket.

Thanks!
Kim
