Pickle part III

Oh my goodness, you sure have been chatting! I did subscribe (thanks Tracy, Heather and Kathy for letting me know), but not one email notice of a post!

I'll have to go back and catch up..in the meantime....yes, yes, yes, TGIF!!! Tomorrow M&M and Sophia leave for 10 days...I will be here with the pups. A mixed blessing being alone - have the house to myself, but am terrified come nightfall. Do not know a single neighbor, no sidewalks - it's not like a real neighborhood. We're on a corner lot, so it feels very isolated - only house next door is empty. :(

For the next ten days I am trapped more than usual - no way to get out to go anywhere. Thank goodness the pickle thread is back!! Thanks, Tracy!

Sorry to begin with the vent! :rotfl: So good to be back together again.

Off to the shower so I won't stink. ;) Later, gators. :goodvibes

TGIF, Pickles!!!

Welcome back, Christine!!!!
Having the house to yourself will be great, but I understgand how you could get a little creeped out at night. Just think of Mickey, and you will be fine!!!

Ok...little vent from me....The Olympics are frustrating me. I Am a figure skating nut. Stayed up last night to watch the Men's long program, but it didn't even start till after 10. I fell asleep during the commercial afer the first guy went. With the pairs and the Men's short, they would show one performance, and then skip to another sport, then back and forth. WHY can't they pick a time, show the ENTIRE competition, and move tho the next sport???

Ok...vent over.

Have a great Friday everyone!!!!

Oh man. What I would do to have the house to myself for 10 days!! I understand your fear though. Just sleep with a lamp or the tv on at night. Or stay up all night and sleep during the day. Do you have a friend who will go visit for a few days to keep you company? I imagine it would be hard when your live out in the willywags. :(

Heather - I am a figure skating nut too. I guess it's not seen as a "sport" to warrant enough coverage. Jerks.

I'm about to head to Costco for some fruit and veggies. Just need to get my butt in gear. It's supposed to warm up today but it's still cloudy. I'll take it!

Come on down!! You said you wanted to get away for a few days - here's your chance!! :goodvibes How long would it take you to drive here? I only need 'nuff time to get the bed made up. ::yes::

It probably costs Mia the same for electricity for the 10 days they are away as for the rest of the year. :rotfl: I leave on a light downstairs, the big TV with a timer until around 2 a.m., stairway light, light and TV in the office (ya know, the TV movement makes it look like someone is really home), night lights in other rooms and the flood light in the backyard, front porch light and light over the garage...oh, the Christmas lights that are still up around the door in my bedroom.

Think that will help?? :scared1:

Another fan of the figure skating and yes, it has been incredibly aggravating. I remember other years way more being shown with entire segments devoted to the figure skating - maybe we had more Americans in the top other years? Boy, when Nancy Kerrigan, Michelle Quan and all those girls were skating, it was prime time TV!

I fell asleep then woke just in time for the last two - but that nap meant I was up for hours and hours.

Hmm....forget what else I was going to say...well, time to get downstairs with Sophia...a very active toddler these days!!

Will check in later. :grouphug:

Uh.. it would be 1319 miles to your place. LOL

Yeah, I guess you have enough lights and appliances on. HAHA! You should be good to go. :thumbsup2

My Costco trip was a bust as far as fruits and veggies go. But I did score on laundry detergent. $12 for 120 loads. I bought three. :rotfl: I also scored on kitty litter and sweet potatoes. I can't wait to get them roasted in the oven, minus the kitty litter of course. YUM! I don't remember what else I bought and oddly, (or sadly) I just put the stuff away! My memory is really the pits these days.

I imagine Sophia is a handful. I remember that age well. Almost makes me want another. I asked Mark, jokingly and he said, "you realize I'll be 70 when the kid graduates huh?" Bwahahahaha.

If you are wanting pickles and ice cream your considering another munchkin may be closer reality than you thunk!! :cool1:

1319 - is that all? Why you could be here by Monday if you leave tomorrow bright and early!! Hey, I will even take you out for breakfast every day....and lunch...and dinner.... :rotfl2:

So glad you clarifies the sweet potatoes and kitty litter...for a moment it was quite a sight in my minds eye. :confused3 :rotfl:

Mmmm, pickles. And ice cream. LOL LOL LOL

When are you due??? I can't wait to spoil a Disney baby!

Christine, I think you have enough lights on.

My neighbor used to turn a radio on in her garage when she was alone to make it sound like someone was working in there.

What a good idea!! Maybe I should put a radio out there and leave that light on too...oh, no curtains in the garage windows, so it would be figured out soon. The garage windows looks like regular house windows.

Hehe, you thought the same as I did about pickles and ice cream! :thumbsup2

Hahahaha. No, I'm not preggers. I don't think I could go through all that again and wind up with a child who has ADHD. :scared1: :scared1: My nerves!

LOL Christine. Yeah, it would take 2 solid days of driving for sure. Your doggies, the tv and radio will keep you company. I would spend most of my time watching movies and stuffing my face. Yup. I would. :teeth:

Another 'problem' that would no doubt arise, is that once here, we would be so close to Disney, another 8 hours would be a must!!!:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I agree. 1 kid with ADHD is enough. I can't deal with another.

Ok...so if I had a large block of time home alone I would....
Make cheesy chicken tetrazzini
Pour myself a glass of wine
Draw a nice bubble bath, complete with candles and a good book
Forget the glass of wine, I'd just head up with the bottle
After I wake up, I'd put on my Mickey Jammies and watch some Lifetime/Hallmark channel movies

Eventually, I would clean/reorganize the house.

You're only 8 hrs from Disney???

Too bad I have to work.
I'd come down, we could stay a night at your place, and head on down to heaven on earth.

Oh yes. Disney is a must. My friend just flew out of Boston today with her family. They are staying at CBR based on my review of it. No pressure there. OMG! I'll be on pins and needles until they get home. Or heading for the hills! :rotfl2:

Heather, I'll be sportin' my Mickey jammies shortly. Just dropped Cassie off at her friend's place and hoping for a sleepover. hehe I'll be breaking out the bottle of wine as hubby just called and asked me if we had any Pepsi to mix with rum tonight. Guess he had a rough day and he had some not so nice words to say. Ruh roh!
