Picking up things for your trip ahead of time.....

I haven't seen this one on here yet but don't forget to get a couple rolls of quarters and pennies if you plan on doing the pressed pennies or quarters in WDW.

Here's a couple more I have on my to bring list...
* I have a small battery recharger that plugs into a regular wall outlet and adapter for the car so that I don't need to bring tons of batteries. Just plug in nite before and ready to go in am for fresh Pictures with the digital cam.
* for car trip - we're driving - I have coloring books, crayons, mini chalk boards, mini hand puzzles - the kind you would add to party grab bags for kids, colorforms, Bubbles, and more little "treats" as the kids get restless.
* Another funny one - if your making the long drive - this one is actually from my sister who used to live in FL and make the drive back here to visit. She recommended those with small children (my DD just finished potty training) - roll of toilet paper/wet wipes for those untimely "I gotta go now mommy times"
* Bandaids, neosporin

We always pack gum....and bonine for the rides that may give us the queasies. I plan on bringing some bottled water too. Cannot find the Brita bottles ANYWHERE.

Also those Chrystal light to go....they are great!

I buy all my non-perishable foods before I go to WDW. We go to Publix to buy the perishables. At home, I buy: peanut butter, jam, cereal, oatmeal, splenda, etc. - at the lowest prices of the year/season, etc.

The extra room in my suitcase holds the souvies very nicely. :flower:

Since Brita water bottles are discontinued, here are a couple of alternatives. One is from Culligan and I have the WaterWay 16 oz from Innova :drinking1

For our trip in November I have purchased the following:

1. Individual hand sanitizer packets.
2. T-shirts: for DH 'Designated Grumpy Zone', for me 'I love Grumpy guys'.
3. Three ring binder for my Disney info.
4. Cinderella purse from Walmart. Saw these at Disneyland for $30+, at
Walmart they were $10.
5. Nightlight.

That's it so far! I will get more serious about buying other things at the end of summer.

I'm a little slow...so far I have:

.99 ponchos for everyone
glow sticks for ds
a new Stitch plush (small) for each night for ds to find on his bed
new Stitch beach towel for ds
new Stitch luggage for ds
new Stitch pjs for ds
(are you seeing a theme here?! DS loves Stitch)

I also plan on getting another swimsuit for ds, neck coolers, and possibly filtered water bottles and lanyards. My DH hates to carry anything around with him -- I'm not sure he wouldn't rather pay for the bottled water. Silly, but I guess if he doesn't mind...

Our toiletries I just need to check and update. We keep travel toiletry bags packed, and I always restock the week after I get back from wherever. It gives me something positive to do, and makes sure we're ready if we ever have an emergency trip.

The zip lock bags are great for putting wet clothes in i find so u dont mix them with the clean ones. Also if u have kids its a good idea to seperate each days clothes in each bag so they are already "put topgether". This way u dont have to spend all the time pickin out matchin clothes everything is already set.

I just do a stock up thing, a few things each payday for packing the things we use all the time, tooth paste, deoderant, hair spray, mouthwash, shampoo....the essentials I call them.

If I need toothpaste I buy two tubes for the house and a third for the trip. All things go in a bag in the spare bedroom. Shampoo runs out I buy two, one goes in bag in bedroom, deoderant for husband, buy an extra one and into bag it goes...This works so well and I never have to buy stuff before the trip, all my essentials are in there. By our September trip I will be well stocked in there and just pack it up to go... :sunny:

I have already purchased personal fans and disposable cameras for our trip the end of Sept. One thing I want to get soon is a Sharpie Click pen for the autographs. They are large and fit the hands of the characters who wear gloves. :cool1:

OK, I have a question, what are the ziplock bags for???

They are also good for putting bottles in so if they open they don't get all over everything else. We carried our sunscreen bottle in one. We also carried the autograph books and pens in one just in case the bag got wet. It also made them easier to grab out of the bag by keeping both books and pens together. We could have used ziploc bags to carry snacks into the park with or to carry leftovers in, we just never did. You could carry your park maps in one, too.

Be careful of the Sharpies and other fat markers because they will bleed through the pages in your autograph book so be prepared. Also, it's a VERY good idea to buy disposable cameras before you get to WDW even if you are not sure if your kids will want to take pictures because a disposable camera was $18 at WDW. We only bought one each for our niece and nephew because we didn't expect them to want to take pictures, but were surprised when our nephew had taken used all the pictures before the first night was over and we had not even gone into the parks yet. Next time, I'll have him well stocked.

We have an over the door shoe organizer that I fill with all the toiletries we need. Before we leave I fill it up, roll it up and stick it in our carry on. Wehn we get there we unroll and hang, simple and a great way to keep things neat and easy to find.

I've got my stack started, too :flower:

Add vitamins, I take this stuff that comes in individual envelopes called "Emergen-C" which I swear keeps us from getting sick at WDW. I also pack some Airborne in my carry-on to take before getting on the airplane, keep away those bugs that fly around in the ventilation system.

Along with the vitamins, I'd add childrens Motrin, polysporin, bandaids, dimetapp, benadryl - all the thing a hypochondriac like me thinks we MIGHT need !!!
Four weeks tonight - to POP and WISHES!!!!!!!!!
:rotfl:

I also use ziplock bags for toiletries. I have one ziplock bag for shower stuff, one for dry items, one for meds, one for jewelry, one for hair stuff, etc. This way if the shower stuff leaks, you don't have shampoo everywhere. I met a womean who would put each piece of "wrinkle prone" clothing in a HUGE ziplock bag and she swore it never wrinkled. I really like the idea of disinfectant wipes or Lysol spray- I am a registered dental hygienist so I am very germ conscious! Good to wipe down the bath area!
