Picking up Magic Bands before check-in date

We are arriving on Sunday night, but not checking in to AoA until Wednesday. Being Canadian, our resort Magic Bands won't be shipped in advance. Most of us currently have bands, purchased when they first became available. I know they should get us into parks, and work at the FP+ but understand they may no longer work with ride photos. We do have a Memory Maker and don't want to miss any pics! Also, One of our party doesn't have a band at all.

Does anyone know if we can stop at AoA on our way to the parks on Monday, 2 days before check-in, and pick up our Magic Bands? It doesn't seem like it should be an issue, as they are made available well in advance for many by shipping, but I wouldn't want to suggest detouring first thing on Day 1 only to be turned down at the desk!

Any Magic Band that is active on your MDE account will definitely work for Memory Maker, and everything else a Magic Band works for. Where, when or how you bought it makes no difference.

Yes you can.

That's not entirely true. The long range transmitter (used for on-ride photos) does use a battery which can die. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything concrete about how long they last, other than "more than 2 years". This would certainly affect the new PoTC ride photo, since there isn't a photo area to tap your band after you get off like the other rides with photos have, but if the battery is dead, it won't automatically link on-ride photos, you'd have to tap after the ride.

Thanks for the reassurance that we can pick up MBs in advance. It would be nice for everyone to have one as we start our trip. Of course, even nicer if Disney would ship to Canada. But maybe someday... I can only assume it has something to do with paying duty on things coming across the border. That is never pleasant.
