Just looking for opinions. We arrive next Friday night, hopefully a little after 8 PM. We want to hit the parks strong the next morning because we know the crowds will be heavy for President's weekend. I wanted to get my son's DAS Friday night to avoid the lines at GS Saturday morning. We will have a car so I was thinking maybe drive to HS and try GS outside the park (we were able to get his DAS there last year). Just curious if anyone has a better idea of a quick and easy way to pick it up that night. Thanks!

Add an extra day to both of your tickets and actually go inside a park. Isn't that really your only other option to get it the night before if they're not processing them outside the park when you get there?

We have annual passes so that isn't a problem. I just want a quick and easy way. I was figuring HS because I thought at that time we could probably get a close parking spot. I figured if there is a problem, we could go in the park if we have to. I just didn't know if I wasn't thinking of a place that would be more convenient. I am assuming we cant get it at Disney Springs or Ticket and Transportation Center.

what is your first park on Saturday if it is MK they open Main Street an hour early and you can easey go to GS and get your son DAS then and be don way before the park opens.

I think HS dose the same thing but I do not think they let guest in that early maybe 10 minutes and then hold them up by the great movie ride, and also AK and holds you up by the tree of life ( or I know pass GR) EPCOT holds you before GR so this park would not work.

Is there a spot to do it at Disney Springs?

DAS can only be obtained at one of the 4 major theme parks. Definitely at the Guest Relations location inside each of those parks. The Guest Relations window outside the park may be able to issue a DAS . That depends on availability of equipment (iPad and printer), as well as lines -- if there are long lines of people needing help with ticket issues, guests requesting a DAS may be directed to enter the park and do it inside.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you for your response. This is all new to me as we have never needed to use it before however I think this coming visit we will have little choice. My sister has MS and has always refused to use any type of special services, even accessible rooms. At this point though, she has little option and I am just starting to loo into how this all works. I'm sure once its figured out it is simple but as a newby its very confusing.
Again, thanks for the response.

Have you checked out the DAS sticky near the top of this forum? Here's a link: http://www.disboards.com/threads/wd...15-digital-das-on-tickets-magicbands.3178976/

Your sister will have to explain her needs and not her diagnosis when requesting a DAS. I also recommend she consider using an ECV to help conserve her energy. She's welcome to park it and walk when she wishes.

Enjoy your vacation!

why can't she wait in the line? that is basically the only question they will ask and she has to be able to explain that an ECV or wheelchair will not help her in any way. keep in mind that most of her walking and standing around will be outside of the lines

Just to say on my last trip I picked up my son's DAS pass at the Epcot IG guest relations, which is located outside the park and the CM there was so helpful..

Also means you can get ice cream from Ample Hills - added bonus lol

She uses a walker, she trips very easily and even with a walker she is as slow as a turtle. It took us a long time and several trips to the emergency room to get her to even use a walker. She will not hear of using a wheelchair as she feels once she uses one she will never get out of it, which is probably true. Long story short, she can't walk far or long and falls very easily. So am I understanding that she will probably not qualify?

Yes, you are. I have lupus. I have a hard time standing for a long time in one spot and I tire very easily. I use a scooter while at Disney. I would not qualify for a DAS.

Correct. If her issues with waiting in lines can be solved with a wheelchair or ECV she will not qualify for a DAS. Just because she uses one at Disney does not mean she will need one at home. Disney is 6-12 miles of walking a day, not easily accomplished with a walker.

I would try to have her use a wheel chair tell her that there is so much more walking while at Disney and even if she were to use a DAS it really would not help with walking that much ( some lines are the same length with the DAS or not think of soaring )

tell her a wheel char is a tool like glasses is a tool to see this is a tool so that she can have fun at Disney let her know that she can use it as a walker and push it and that you will not be pushing her all day ( so there will be no way for her to sit all day in it.)

oh, good idea. We love Ample Hills. Thanks.

she has mobility issues according to Disney. as such the only accommodation they offer is the use of a WC or ECV. a DAS would not help her anyway as there is just as much walking and standing around using one, its just in a different spot.
