Booked a cruise really late (through Expedia) and will be in florida by the time the 7 day deadline hits. Disney is just going to hold them at the port for us. Is there anything I should be aware of? They say to check in two hours before and I have seen on the boards people talking about 10:30. What kind of info do the docs. have that I would need before arriving? Could they send them to the Swan for when we get there?

I would feel more comfortable picking them up at the port then sending them to the Swan. There is much more chance of them getting lost if sent to the hotel.

There are a few things that need to be filled out, but nothing that should take more than a few minutes. You will be fine picking them up at the dock. Don't worry. There really is nothing you need ahead of time, except maybe the luggage tags, but they give you those at the port.

2 hours is about right. They start boarding around 12:30 so if you arrive around 10:30 (when the port opens) you will have no problems.

mmouse37 - How do you get through all the security at the port without having cruise documents in hand? On both of my DCL cruises this year, at least 4 different people insisted on seeing my cruise documents plus passport or driver's license before I could even enter the terminal. That was still the case the middle of last month. Have they stopped that now?

did you make your arrangements through Disney directly? If so, you will probably be ok. If not, then I would be a bit nervous myself about this arrangement.

When we first walked up to the terminal we were stopped by a CM with a clipboard outside. She checked our names off on her list and checked our I.D.'s and then sent us to the CM at the desk in the bottom lobby of the terminal. We had to fill out paperwork there, and she checked our I.D's. We then went up to wait in the regular check-in line. This was on our 2/23/02 cruise.

I know many people who picked up their documents at the port and had no problems. I do agree, though that picking them up if you booked with Disney direct would make me less nervous.

I picked up my papers at port twice and never had a problem.
Last time I use Disney transfer from Orlando Airport and they checked my name in the passanger list (they can tell you your stateroom number there if you still don't know it).
Once off the bus we went to check in without anyone stop us to enter the terminal.
They improve the process and now you fill out the papers with the assistance of the Disney employee right at the Check in counter. It took us 5 minutes not more.

Have a Disney day!!

Thanks for the info. The lady at Expedia called Disney for me. She kept me on hold forever and said she was Zip-adee-do-dad the entire wait time. Anyway she said I will receive a confirmation letter from both expedia and disney so it sounds like we will be OK with security.

Thanks for the check in info. I thought she meant get there at 3:00 if the cruise left at 5:00. No idea that it meant before the start of boarding time.
REALLLLLLLLLY glad I asked that question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
