I ordered an AP and need to pick it up at will call.

We are going to the MK our first day and we're staying at SSR.

Where is the closest place I can pick up our AP's?

If it is at the MK, where do we pick up the passes there?

Thanks!

I think there might be a place at DTD. For sure you might want to take a bus over to Epcot. Any Guest Relations/Services windows at any of the Parks can accomodate your AP.

There are two Guest Services locations at Downtown Disney. One is next to Team Mickey and the other is near Planet Hollywood.

At MK, there are Guest Service locations at the Ticket & Transportation Center and at the main entrance of the park.

When we got are new ones last September, the T&TC GS location was not open. We didn't go to the MK until late afternoon, so I don't know if it was closed due to the time of day.

Don't make a special trip to DTD. Just pick them up at the MK. Guest services is on the far right side before you enter the park.

when I bought my AP just picked it up at the MK since I was going there anyway

Picking up the APs is usually an arrival day thing for me. I don't like to have to bother with it on our first park day. We usually go to DTD if we are at SSR or OKW - or to the International Gateway if we are at BWV or BCV

Related question: if you order in advance and pick it up at will call, is the renewal date the date you ordered or the date you picked it up? If the latter, what's the advantage to ordering in advance? Locking in price?

The renewal date is when you pick it up. And yes - locking in the price is one reason to order in advance (I saved a few bucks that way last time). The other reason is just "peace of mind". I like to have everything taken care of long before the trip so I don't have to worry about anything

Renewals extend the expiration of your AP by a year. They used to begin when you exchanged but that changed a couple of years ago.
