Hello

Me and my wife are going to animal kingdom lodge, just us for two weeks in November for our late honeymoon and we can start booking us from this Sunday

We have picked the following places for our stay so far

Day we arrive a quick service at hotel

Tony town square
Boma breakfast - paying cash then T Rex
Holly wood and vine
Chef de France then desert party (is 6pm probably best to book that day?)
Tusker house
The Crystal Palace for lunch and then mickey Christmas party
Sci if for lunch - paying cash then house of blues that evening
California Grill
Boma
Be our guest lunch - cash then the grand Floridian cafe
Dinner at universal - cash
Ohana
Jeko

I would like to know if you would change any of them for something that you think may be better or a must do. If you do suggest changing one then it would need to be for another one in that area/park as that’s where we will be

Also is Ohana worth doing, I love the look of the hotel and the tiki bar looks lovely. However I have been looking at reservation times for there and it always seems to be giving u a seating time of around 5pm or 9pm. Is there a reason for this or is it just always full I have never seen a seating time of around 7pm before. Does this just book up fast

We have picked two signature restaurants, is there one you would pick over jeko and California grill. Are these worth the double credit

We are on the dinning plan to, would you say we are paying for the right ones out of pocket or are they all about the same

Well Tony's had gotten a lot better lately so your probably safe there. As to Ohana it is my families favorite place to eat. We eat there twice for dinner each trip and usually one breakfast. As to Jiko, I consider it to be the best restaurant in WDW with California Grill a close second. You picked a couple of good spots for cash. Breakfasts tend to be less expensive and while I love Sci FI I usually describe it as a CS place impersonating a TS. Now if you have not been I would tell you to try most of these places and make up your own mind but I have to be honest. We do not eat at Hollywood & Vine anymore. It has made my girls banned list. For us the final straw was having to get up to get our refills and a table cleaner leaving a cart full of dirty dishes by our table for an hour.

Personally speaking:

I would swap out Tony's for Liberty Tree Tavern or even Santulli Canteen
Not sure what meal your having at H&V, but if its lunch or dinner, I would swap that out for Mama Melrose or even 50s PT

I wasn’t to sure about Tony’s to be honest

If you were changing Tony’s and/ or Hollywood and vine. What would you change it for in those parks. What about mamas Melrose

There all dinners. Unless I have put lunch next to it

Another vote not to do Hollywood and vine. Think I’ll change that one then. Mama and 50s prime time looks good. What you think it better

If you were going to Tony's for italian, then go to Mama's instead. Food is decent.

If you are thinking about changing Tony's have you checked the hotels nearby? You are a short monorail ride from several good places are we talking lunch or dinner? As to Mama's half of the family (group of 8) love the place and the other half not so much. The girls love the steak there. As to changing Hollywood & Vine they are addicted to the chocolate peanut butter cake at 50's Primetime. If you do not like the antics just tell them when you check in and tell them and you will get seated in a more sedate area. The last time we were there, there was a birthday celebration for a 13 year old. Well his family was teasing him and the waiter grabbed one of mine and took her to his table and said This is a girl, you may soon start noticing them. And before he left the waiter fed him his greenbeans because he did not clean his plate.

What hotel restaurants would u recommend

The only thing is we were going to try and watch happy ever after at 8pm that night so was going to eat in magic kingdom at about 6

Will do. Any idea about me question with Ohana and why there never seems to be 7pm ish times. Is it just that full in advance

It does get full and ADRs are hard to come by for dinner - especially closer to the 7-8 time frame as people want to stick around for the fireworks and the view from the Poly beach is spot on.

I would trade Hollywood and Vine and do the Brown Derby instead.

As for Tony's Town Square, I wouldn't take the gamble. The best Italian food on property, one of the best restaurants overall, is Il Mulino at the Swan--you can't go wrong there!

I think there double credits on the dinning plan and I wouldn’t have that

1900 Park Fare is a character meal for breakfast and dinner. We will be going there twice over thanksgiving for my 18 month old. We are also staying at the GF, so I figured that would be a good spot for our first night dinner.

@Garyjames220 Tony's is horrible. I'd pass on that.
I would try to go to Satuli Canteen if you can (QS). Food is PHENOMINAL. My fave on property.

Ohana dinner honestly isn't that great. Food quality is pretty bad, compared to the price you pay, its not worth it. (dried out meat, slimy wings, etc). Just not very good. Thats just my opinion. I know a lot of people love it there.

To answer your question about 1900 PF or GF Cafe, i'd stick with GF Cafe. I liked the food better. 1900 PF is just ok.

Only thing is we are on the dinning plan so we would rather use a table service meal than quick service

Doesn’t seem to be that many places in magic Kingdom for a nice table service meal is the felling am getting

Oh i see. If youre on the DP and money isnt an issue, then by all means try out Ohana. Lol. We were on the dining plan when we went there. Had i paid cash, i wouldve been soooo ticked because the food wasnt good. And It aint cheap.

For MK I would honestly go to Liberty Tree. Food is great! I'd prefer this place over Tony's in a heart beat. Also, I havent been but many people really like Skippers Canteen.

Good observation.
We only eat at MK out of desperation or greed, LOL. Want a decent table service nearby? Definitely head for the nearby resorts. The Contemporary is w/i walking distance and the Wilderness Lodge is a relaxing boat ride away. Check the menus over there and see if any thing appeals to you. Kona Cafe at Poly is a solid choice but takes a little bit more travel time.
