Rescheduled an April 1st vacation for June 10th, and I have to admit it feels amazing to be back in MDE making fastpasses - regardless of availability just the idea I can be on MDE making plans, with Florida going full speed at reopening, feels like light at the end of the tunnel. Does anyone else have that feeling? Just being on the app making plans does a lot for the mental state... am I crazy here or is there anyone else who has that mentality?

No, I get where you're coming from.

I just had my last FPs and ADRs cancelled for my May trip. My resort reservations are still showing, but I should probably go ahead and get the refunds processing. It's kind of depressing not to see anything on MDE.

But, as an RN on a COVID unit, I am terrified at the idea of a full speed reopening. Terrified. Don't get me wrong - I'm tired of the stay at home order. My kids are behind on their remote school work. My four-year-old is basically feral at this point, as she watches Disney+ while DH works from home and I'm at the hospital. I long for a trip to, well, anywhere that's not the grocery store or work. But after seeing firsthand what this virus can do, I worry about people trying to get "back to normal" so fast that people die. Sorry to be a downer.

Fully respect that and thank you for everything you’ve probably had to put up with trough all this :)

If there was no shot of a June opening, you would of heard by now. Not saying it will for sure open by June 1 but if it wasn't possible it would be announced by now.

Not true. Disney is canceling 1 week at a time. They aren’t even thru May yet.
You are correct in that they aren’t through May yet, but the rebooking offer with free dining that they are giving to people who have had their trips cancelled is valid for bookings starting June 1st. If Disney was positive they wouldn’t be open by June 1st I would think they would have the rebooking offer reflect that. It just causes them more hassle if they are letting people rebook for a date they are sure they won’t be open. But, who knows when they’ll open. I do hope we hear something from Disney soon especially now that Florida has announced their reopening plans.

All mods, I can respect this post was moved to a different forum but please give some warning before you just move stuff.

Who is the one making this political? He/she only said it wouldn’t be open by then. Idk how that’s political?

Did you miss the post I replied to? :)
I was implying that my response wasn’t meant to spark political comments. I apologize if anyone got a different meaning. Also, please don’t reply argumentatively as that’s not what I was going for.

I am a little jealous of those who can get excited about their FP day. Ours was last week and I just dreaded doing it. We were so disappointed that our trip in mid March was cancelled at the last moment that I just can’t let myself get excited about this upcoming one. Even if they open, I’m not convinced we won’t have a resurgence and have to lock down again. I worry they’ll open with such a reduced experience we won’t want to spend the money. It’s really putting a damper on the enjoyment we normally have with pre-trip planning. That said, we do want to go, so we’re trudging through, hoping for the best. How’s that for an upbeat post? lol...not really,

Mine is coming up in June... I’ll go through the motions, but won’t be getting excited.

My honest advice to you is to reschedule for six months to a year from now. Take some time and let yourself get excited about a Disney trip again. It’s difficult to put off something that great for that long but JUST THINK of how good your fastpass days will feel then. Give yourself time and don’t even think about the money at that point. Disney trips should always be something you’re looking forward to, otherwise there really is no point.

Hopefully Disney will give you something to be excited about... I’m guessing by the fact you’re a Yankees fan that you’re from NYC and nobody deserves a vacation more than you. Hang in there, I hope your June trip is amazing!
