We are trying for something close to POP
we are hoping to make an adr for 8:30 or 9
I have looked at the menus over and over and cannot pick
i am looking for something my kids will enjoy but something that isnt to noisy

Spoodles
or
Maya Grill
or
Flying Fish

I picked Spoodles because the other menus dont appeal to me. We will be eating at Spoodles on Saturday night!

Of the 3 I have only eaten at Spoodles and both times it was noisy! The food was really good and our waiter was great, we really enjoyed it there. We are eating at Flying Fish this time and I am looking forawrd to that. If you are staying at POP then you would need 2 buses to get to CSR. The Boardwalk you can get to very easily from DHS or Epcot (walk or boat). The Boardwalk is also a nice place to visit just to see it so I'd go with either of those.

If you are a fan of seafood then you can't go wrong with Flying Fish. However, if you are going to use the DDP, remember that it will require two credits because it's a signature restaurant.

The food there is terrific!

I think what's going to be hard is what your definition of "too noisy". I personally can tolerate plenty of noise, but I don't like it when I can't hear the person across the table. I don't think any of the 3 you chose would fall into the "too noisy" category.

As far as kid friendly...well, there are kids menus everywhere now. So unless you have older kids who have to order off the adult menu, you can take your pick. Anyone a picky eater?

Are you going to have a car? Maya Grill is at Coronado Springs and if you don't have a car, that could be a pain to get to and from the resort to POP. You will probably have to take a cab back to POP from CSR.

Spoodles and Flying Fish are both on the Boardwalk and you could take Epcot transportation back to POP, but with that late of a seating, Epcot may be closed after you eat and you may have to cab it from the Boardwalk as well.

I've never eaten at Maya Grill but enjoyed both Spoodles and Flying Fish. Neither are what I would class as quiet dining experiences, but neither are they crazy loud. I would pick Flying fish as the food there was fantastic.

Can you post how your experience was at flying fish when you get back?
We will have a car with us and plan to drive to dinner.

I was also thinking that it may be nice to see the boardwalk.

We both love seafood. My kids are little more picky about it, but they do have a variety on the kids menu. We have enough credits so that wont be a problem.

How is it inside flying fish. I read something about things the kids can look for like a mural orsomething

I'd listen to Kevin's review of Maya Grill :lmao: ...it doesn't come recommended.
I'd say Flying Fish if you are paying out of pocket, or Spoodle's if you are DDP'ing it.

Being at disney I expect it to be noisy everywhere we go lol. I meant the same thing you did I can tolerate noise but I dont want to feel like it is at our table, if that makes sense.
i have a dd who will be 8 she is very picky but i did see some thigs on the kids menus that she likes. My ds is 5 and not half as picky.
We will have a car so I was trying to pick things not to far that we could drive too we will be somwhat tired from being at hs all day.

The decor is very whimsical - there are parachute light fixtures with fish on trapeze (i guess that's where the flying fish name came from), and there is a large mural on the back wall of the restaurant ... I think it's painted to resemble a coney island type setting.

It's been about a year since we've been there so my memory may be a little fuzzy. I'm sure someone else here can add to or correct my description.

Thanks everybody I think we are going to try Flying fish. Does anyone know of any sites that show pictures of it?

I love the Flying fish Cafe!

I do not have the mural in detail but you can see it to the left of the dining room shot but the whole place is so whimsically designed!

Thanks everybody!!! I got an ADR for Flying Fish on 12/10/08 for 8:05. I am very excited.
