Pick-up from MCO:from POP back to POP

We'll be picking up an elderly family member from MCO. We'll already be checked in and will either be leaving from Pop or from a park to pick them up and then returning to Pop. What's the easiest/most cost effective way to do this? She's arriving wed and leaving fri (don't know the times yet) so we need to do this twice. Our one thought is to rent a car, but we'd really only be using it for that and it seems like a waste. A private towncar from Mears seems too expensive. My fiance and I are pushing for her to use Magical Express, but since no one else has used it before they don't trust it and is pretty much not an option.

I don't know if there is still a Mears shuttle service, but it is basically the same as DME, except you have to pay for it.

A taxi is a very expensive option.

A personal towncar service may be the best option for roundtrip. Someone meets them in baggage claim, assists with their luggage, and takes them directly to the resort. Reverse on the return. When considering this option, consider the vacation time it will take you to rent a car, drive to the airport, look for a place to park (not easy, just did this in Nov. to pick up family), and return the rental car. Also consider the cost of tolls and parking at the airport.

OTOH, perhaps it's personal and they would like for you to be at the airport to ease their minds. If a personal towncar driver won't make them feel secure, then your most cost efficient option is to rent a car. JMHO!

You can rent a car at the Dolphin and I think one other location on-site at WDW. You can then just return it after you pick the person up. Don't know how much it would cost but it might make everyone's life a little easier.
