Pick-Up at MCO

For those of you who always ask... "Where do WDW Cast Members go on vacation?" well, the answer is WDW of course. LOL. I'll be on vacation next week, and one of my friends is flying down to join me.

My question is... when I go to pick him up at the airport, where would I be able to meet him? Last time a friend came down (pre-9/11) I was able to go to the gates... but I've heard rumors that I won't be allowed to do this anymore. Can anyone shed some light on this?

WOW, I get a chance to help you? Oh, too cool. You can meet them at the security area, just not past the security machines, you know, right after where the people exit from the tube thing. Or..you can meet them at baggage pickup, or, you can meet them in the pickup area outside for incoming flights.

As a joke but their names on card. Their fellow travellers will think they are being picked up in a town car/limo

You can't go beyond the security checkpoints without a boarding pass. I would find out what gate the plane is coming in on and wait right outside the security area. If they are coming in on 1 to 59, I would suggest in front of the Magic of Disney store. For 60 to 129, in front of the Hyatt.

It's true ,only ticketed passengers can access the gate area.You can either meet him by the exit (by the check point) or at baggage claim.I'm not a 100% sure,If I'm wrong ,someone please correct me.

If you want to meet them in the gate area just buy a refundable ticket for a flight leaving from the same section your friends are arriving. I've read of people doing that.

The easiest thing is to have them call you from a cell phone. You don't have to park the car just drive around once or twice.

The only way to go to the gate to meet an incoming passenger or go to the gate with a departing passenger is for the passenger to be a minor child (you can get passes for two other persons to escort the child) or a handicapped person.

We did this with our niece who joined us at WDW for a week. She flew in from NY and we drove from LA.

Oh, it sure would and then the rumors that disney picks up at the airport would start for sure. Wouldn't that be fun.

Me either, but, it looks like a tube and subway for something above ground did not work.
