We are going in February 2013, and I was all set on POP, but this morning I saw the alternate offer for POFQ; now I'm torn. What's your opinion on these resorts?

We are traveling with 3 toddlers: 4, 2.5, and 13 months.

I hear POP is louder, which I don't like. Even though we will have kids and could potentially BE the loud guests, I only plan to sleep/relax in the rooms.

Is it an easier drive to the parks from POFQ? We will have a car, so I thought it would be best to drive to the parks (except MK). Off topic, but if you have suggestions on driving vs. buses, I'm all ears.

The biggest con for POFQ is that we're from New Orleans. I'd like to go somewhere that looks more "Disney", lol, and between the two that's obviously POP.

Pop's main area are loud. But the rooms we have had were nice and quite. We were actually booked there for this year again. We love pop but I love the theming of the moderates better. But pop has some big pluses also.. We just switched yesterday to CSR. Which is dh favorite resort.

CSR was 440.00 more so if money is a factor Pop is the way to go. If not POFQ is a wonderful resort also.

Kids love values and your little ones would probably be in heaven with the theming. They are really fun outside. But, inside, they are just a really clean Super 8 (with the exception of family suites.) There isn't as much theming and the rooms are small.

Have you looked at other mods if you aren't sure about the theming at POFQ? CSR rooms are only about $5 more per night. CBR and POR should have similar pricing to POFQ if there is availability. POR and POFQ have the perk of having a boat to Downtown Disney.

I think with most resorts, driving to the parks is faster, except MK. POP has a shorter route to AK, DHS, and EP and POFQ is closer to MK. The POFQ goes to the POR bus stops, whereas the POP bus only has one stop.

I prefer driving to the parks and my DH likes riding the buses- he says it's part of the experience and it keeps us from getting lost ;)

I honestly just don't care for the values and would pick mods over them, especially if the price were similar. I like having the pool slide, lounge area, nicer room, etc.

You can have loud guests no matter what reort you stay at. I would not do rooms close to the main pool. Look at the resort map at request rooms close to a parking lot if you have your own car. We have a great stay at Pop. The major pluses for POFQ Smaller Resort, Queen Beds, Boat to DTD can use pools at POR & it is a beautiful resort. Pop has I better Food Court imho & it is a fun resort, We thought the bus service was better-just in case you need to use the busses.

I would go with POFQ due to the shorter walking distances and the ages of your little ones. Your kids will be happy in either resort!
I have had good bus service at both. POP food court offers more, but is LOUD and can be chaotic (well, any of them can be...) at Pop I DETEST walkin through the gift shop to get to the food court. Yes, I know you can go outside and re-enter, which is what I usually do.....

Well, after talking with my H, we decided to stay at POP. We've always wanted to stay at the "80s hotel", and we only need QS dining- IF they offer free dining, it will be better for us to be at a value resort.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I know we're going to have a great time no matter where we stay. :)
