We've only eaten TS at Epcot once and it was at Restaurant Akershus. We loved it and may just eat there again. So for adventurous parents and not so adventurous kids, which restaurant would you recommend?

Our kids love Alfredo's (Italy) and the Biergarten (Germany.) DH and I are partial to Chefs de France.

The kids love the show in the Biergarten. The food is a buffet. We've always thought it was pretty decent food. What kid doesn't love pasta? This is where Alfredo's becomes a favorite.

For some of "the best" food in Epcot, Chefs de France wins in my book.

All of the restaurants have a fairly standard "kids" menu. If your kids can exist on macaroni and cheese or chicken fingers, you'll be fine at any table service restaurant. ::MinnieMo

Do the TS restaurants in China, Japan, or Morrocco serve chicken strips or macaroni?

I liked sitting outside at Rose and Crown. The fish and chips are good and they now have steak too. My kids liked sitting where they could see the water.

I liked San Angel Inn but haven't been there in a few years. I like feeling like I'm outside at night when I'm there.

One of our top 2 favorite restaurants in DW is Le Cellier in Canada. We've been there many times and the food is sooooo good. Wonderful cheese soup, pretzel bread, filet w/ cream cheese potatoes and maple creme brulee :worship:

Chef's De France.....great food, service, and atmosphere! Enjoy!
If you don't mind, could you elaborate? What is the atmosphere like? Lighting? Child-friendly?

Teppanyaki in Japan. The chef prepares all meals on the huge griddle on table. The entertainment is great and encourages the kids to eat the food. My kids are pretty picky and both ate more than half of their entrees (chicken, rice & veggies).

For adults, the meal was just amazing! Both in preparation and taste. A great experience and a great entertaining meal.

Well I love the Mexican one I feel like I am sitting outside. It is just special to me :love2:

This sounds interesting to me. How is the chicken prepared?

I'm with UncleRomulus on this one, I'd pick the Coral Reef. Good food & a terrific atmosphere for kids.
We have also enjoyed Teppenyaki & LeCellier, DH like Alfredo's & I like Marrekesh. The atmosphere in San Angel is really beautiful.

I know Marrakesh definitely serves chicken strips and fries, because my 7-year-old nephew had them when we went a couple of weeks ago. Excellent food, that the rest of our party [me 43, sister 41, mom 70, niece 16, and two other nephews 18 and 16] loved. Beautiful place, great entertainment. I believe you can find all the menu items at allearsnet.com.

I'm not entirely sure if those particular restaurants have chicken strips and macaroni specifically on their kids menu, but I do know that all of the restaurants had extremely kid friendly menus especially for the kids. Other things we found featured a lot were grilled cheese sandsiches, pizza and spaghetti. I'm sure your nonadventurous kids will find something they like at any of the world showcase restaurants. ::MinnieMo

Over the years, we've done Mexico, Japan (a few times!), Germany, and Canada.

The best, in my opinion, has been Canada. Le Cellier was wonderful and we had a fantastic meal there, and the service was great! There were 11 of us, so our server had just our table. She was very attentive!

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I like the idea of eating at Coral Reef so much. Right now with my two youngest ages 3 and 2 any distractions (fish or entertainment) will help me out tremendously;). My two little ones will pretty much try what ever you put in front of them but, my oldest dd is very picky. We may have to hop from MGM to Epcot just for a very early dinner and hop back to MGM for Fantasmic in order to try more than one restaurant. It's so hard to decide. I'm pretty sure we won't try San Angel Inn. At least I can mark that one off my list, after all, we live in Texas and have authentic Mexican or TexMex to choose from. I absolutely love Mexican food but, we have it all the time here at home.

I just had to add: Salsa is my favorite food group:teeth:!

Lighting is very good, atmosphere very friendly, and yes, I haven't been to a restaurant yet that wasn't child friendly! I also agree that the Coral Reef is a wonderful restaurant with wonderful food. Lighting is dim , but the children are very welcome there, and they also are absorbed in watching the fish, so that you can have a peaceful meal!

Thanks! The kids seem interested in the "aquarium" restaurant and dh doesn't really care as long as he gets to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table.:rotfl2:

Coral Reef. I have always been in love with that place since the first time I walked in the kitchen. What a great place. I never miss a chance to go there, but then I like Mexico, Canada, France......errrrr just pick any of the above. I like them all! :goodvibes

Germany is a must for us. Not many Germam restaurants in our part of the US. (And I can get much better seafood in St. Augustine on our drive home to Jacksonville - and cheaper than the Coral Reef, too! )

But the Biergarten has great food and the band is a lot of fun. I also love the decor, especially the working water wheel / mill and trees.
