Pick an office

Which office would you choose?

  • Large office with a window that looks at a brick wall.

  • Smaller office with a window that looks onto a nice street.

  • You get an office? Cube city, baby.

I picked smaller office with nice view:) Why? I don't want to be in a cube:scared: and I don't want to look at a brickwall:confused3 :)

I picked the larger office - I have a window now that I never look out of - although I like the sunlight. I'd rather have more floor space.

Smaller office with a view - especially if you're going to be spending substantial amounts of time IN that office.

Staring out at a brick wall would depress me personally.

I live in cube city. Thankfully my cube has a glass top and I can see out to a real window :)

If I had the choice I would pick the small office

About 3-4 feet shorter, but the smaller office comes with a little raised platform area in front of the windows that can serve as a reading nook .

Same here. I'd have either blinds or curtains on the window anyway, so I'd rather have more floor space.

I have a cubicle with a window. At first I thought I'd hate being in cubicle-land, but now I love it. We always talk (yell) over the walls and everyone always knows whats going on. Of course if someone starts whispering, everyone just has to listen harder. :lmao:

How much room does a professor really need??:confused3 You just have to have enough room to DIS and nap. :teeth:

Definitely take this office. It sounds cozier. I work in cube city and would do anything to get out.

I currently share an office with a nice view, but I don't face the window as it would be a distraction. I'd prefer a bigger office that has little or no view.

Larger space, id rather look at nothing than something that tries to appear nice but isnt.

Ahem. Once school starts, the DISing will be drastically reduced.

I need enough space to hold an obscene number of books and conferences with 3-4 students at a time.

definitely the view. Now I have a cube and can't even see outside:guilty: I don't like not being able to see if it's sunny/rainy/snowing....:confused3 I'll definitely enjoy a view:cloud9:

Fine, be a nerd then. Just go with the big office. You'll obviously be too busy to be concerned with us or a view.

Based on what you said I think you should pick the larger office. More room and less distraction for the kids.

Also you can either hang a picture up in the window or in place of the window. If you really want to get creative why not have one or more of your students paint you a landscape on the window itself. Good luck.
