not your own, but one you would have to live the rest of your life there, and the state can not touch and ocean

Pennsylvania

Hmm... the only state I've been to that doesn't touch an ocean is Pennsylvania.

It's beautiful there and I have family near Pittsburgh so I could do PA.

I can't play there is no place that I would want to live that doesn't touch the ocean. I live where the Atlantic Ocean touches my state, but I don't go in the water.

My dream place would be Oahu, so..... just a different ocean that I have and would swim in.

and we welcome you:banana:

I'm with you. I live in Pa and even though its only 90 minutes from the ocean, I still want to be closer. Although, I also would love to live in Arizona and would REALLY love to live in Oahu:love:

Does the Gulf of Mexico count as an ocean?! If not, then I'd choose Texas. If so, I'll choose Arizona.

I have a fear of not being able to escape into the ocean in an emergency (no, I don't know why; there's probably no name for this phobia; and I can't imagine what kind of emergency would make me safer in the ocean without a boat than on land...).

But since you asked: Nevada. Specifically Las Vegas. Once the job market picks up.

I'd go back to New Mexico. DD is going to school there, we have lots of friends, and since I've already lived there for 15 years, I think I've got a pretty good handle on the pros and cons. ;)

Tennessee, lots to see and do, from one side to the other. The Great Smoky Mountains in East Tn and Nashville in West Tn, but so much in between.

Another vote for Pennsylvania. We have seriously considered retiring there.

Another possibility might be Kentucky, in the Lexington area. But we really haven't spent enough time there to know for sure.

This is my choice but I've lived here for 20+ years and I can't see myself ever leaving. :cloud9:

Well we were born and raised...and currently live...in MD...and HATE it. We lived in NC for 7 years and really liked it (should have stayed) and we lived in PA for 2.5 years and liked it except for the really long winters. PA, IMO, is the best of those 3 states for raising a family (MD is the worst).

We will likely move south in 5.5-6 years (when our youngest graduates HS). Probably somewhere from NC to FL...on the coast (likely FL).

But in answer to the OP's question...if I couldn't pick a state on an ocean...it would be PA or KY.

I'd probably pick Ohio. It's only a couple hours from where I live now, so I've spent time there and have always found the people warm and friendly.

Me too! :goodvibes

Nebraska. In fact we'd love to move there now.
