Pick a Pearl ?

Hello,
Trying to figure out how much money to set aside for my wife and two daughters (ages 12 & 13) to do the pick a pearl @ Epcot, anyone have a best guess ? Feel free to chime in on any recent experiences with the pearl place. Thanks for any help........

Hi, I've done this twice and it is soooo much fun. Picking the pearl is cheap. I can't remember how much but I want to say around 20-25 dollars. It's what you put it in that will cost you. Once I put my in a necklace and it cost me around 150 dollars. The other time I put it in a ring and that was around 75-100 dollars. The second time I got a black pearl and it was hugh. They rang a bell and everyone came over to look. I had a great time doing it and plan on doing it again. I picked the first time at Downtown Disney and the second time at The Beach Club. It has pics and prices. It has really helped me out on figuring out what to put aside for the pick a pearl. It really just depends on how much you want to spend on it. I am thinking at least $50 for mine. I don't want to put too much in it because I am not sure how much I will wear it.

When we did this last month I believe it was $15 for the pearl and then for the setting we picked a necklace with the pearl attached to a heart charm. It was only about $20 total (for the charm and necklace) - sterling silver they said - it was for our 7 year old daughter so that was perfect!

my DD picked a 7 3/4 mm pearl at epcot in september, and i think the price was $14.80. we didn't have it set as all the settings we saw were silver and DD is allergic. i've read threads on the theme park board about which oysters to pick and the general consensus is that the hairiest, ugliest oysters have the biggest pearls, LOL. have fun!

the pearl is the cheap part, at around $15. My 2 daughters and I all did this at Epcot and we spent close to $200 for the settings. Each girl got a necklace setting and chain in 14K, I had my pearl set in a 14K wire cage and use a chain I already have. There were less expensive options as well, but I prefer 14K jewelry.
