Pick a pearl in Japan, what did you think?

We saw a really interesting one. The lady was really sweet and, while the oyster was opened quickly, the oyster wound up being some kind of rare color (like a silver) and the lady showed it to everyone standing around. Kinda neat.

i took my niece to the one in downtown disney, our woman was awful. the lady next to her was having alot of fun with it. ours rushed us through it too. wouldnt even ring the bell, because she said it was close to closing time and she didnt want any one else to come over :sad2: so while i know there wasnt alot more for her to do, it was really more about her attitude. like we were a bother to her.

We don't pick pearls in the Asian parts of World Showcase. I just look at the statues while my brother buys swords, and not that plastic stuff, either. We're talking metal here. Rough stuff.

Sincerely,

We love the pearls. My DS picks the oyster ,and the pearls go to his little sister (well actually we have them untill we can figure out what kind of jewelry we want to put them in). Then we buy him some toy or another that he wants. Win/Win for all. :)

I think you must have just gotten a bad sales lady. My mother and I have done this in Las Vegas, DL, WDW, and Hawaii and we have always had a blast! We liked it so much in hawaii we probably came home with 20 pearls and spent a total of 4 hrs (Not consecutive) talking and playing with the sales people. One of the pearls we got was pitch black in color and the salesman was so impressed with it he had to show it to everyone who walked by. I can't wait to go back to DL this Dec and do it again. Sorry you didn't have a good experience.

I did this in June and really enjoyed it. Our lady was very nice and told us a lot about the pearl.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience. Did you get a nice pearl?

Even CMs have their off days too-even at Disney...

So, what kind of pearl did you get???

it has been a while since i have been to Seaworld but i recall back in the 80's they actually had a Oyster Diving show where you could watch the ladies dive for them to sell and open at the kiosk. Maybe thats what the OP was looking for?
