Pick a new resort theme.

I love some of these ideas especially the world show case theme....sounds great and what a wonderful food court that would be!!!

But for the longest time I have been wanting DL and WDW to build a large resort based on all the different animals from all of the animated movies they have had over the years and make it a pet friendly hotel.
I would like to see all of the rooms have laminate (sp?) wood type flooring (of course to protect it from animal accidents and prevent carpets from having to be shampooed daily) and for them to offer different size mickey beds for your pets based on what size animal you will be checking in with as well as disney themed feeding dishes for your pooches during your stay.
The resort grounds would have of course an onsite kennel for the days you want to head into a park and need someone to care for your companion. The kennel would be grand and themed as well as offer a couple pet pools that are maybe only a foot to a foot and a half deep and of coursed shaped maybe like pluto and of course those micky ears would have to be there as well.
The resort would have gift shops for humans and an onsite pet shop disney style that would have not only disney items for your pets but also have a variety of pet foods should you need any during your stay.

I have always felt that disney should offer some sort of pet friendly resort because there are so many who really like to travel with their best friends and I guess IMHO it would be a big seller as long as it was done in Disney style and not done too cheesy....and we all know Disney can do NICE!

Anyhow I know my vote/thought is sort of dorky but that's just me and I thought I would share.

My kiddie are enamored with the the rides at WDW..it would be fun to have a resort based on the rides...incorporate, TOT, Aerosmith, Small World, Peter Pan..and maybe the pool can have a Splash Mountain theme..how cute..

I love it! Our buddy Will gets left home every year and I know he would love a magical WDW vacation too! Two paws up for a pooch palace hotel!

Castle theme. I think Disney could do much better with it than the Excalibur in Las Vegas. On the other hand, I don't think they can do much than the Venetian in Las Vegas.

A CASTLE THEME IS PERFECT!! Afterall, a castle is the heart of WDW!

Me too! Some of Disney's biggest movies stared our furry friends. It's only fitting that they be welcomed too!

And while you're at the park, they're at their own verson of the park!

I was actually thinking Deluxe resort..only because value resorts do not have exquisite pools....How about the first value with an exquisite pool!! I love the idea..to bad I don't work for Disney..I think a resort based on their rides would be so popular...

I think they need to do a Pirates of the Caribbean themed, or Villan resort, Value or Moderate that sleeps larger families/more suites with lower prices. Imagine the possibitities for them!!!!!

Lots of cool info. But it says it was slated to be built on the GF site. Change of management - Eisner didn't want it but could really get behind the GF concept.

I think that they would be too sex oriented, more for the boys.

As far as having an elaborate pool in a value resort, that would not fit the resort catigories. Delux have certain aspects and do the moderate and value. Mixing things would just get confusing and create booking nightmares. Imaging if they changed the polynesian to a value resort. Everyone would be trying to book it, change their reservation to there, call everyday for cancellations. What problems.

With that said, how about an Egyptian theme or ocean theme?

Why would you say that, there are plenty if Pirate loving girls out there, me included as well as the other girls in the family. Pirate Wenches, Pirate Princesses, etc

Now, there are many female villans, Maleficient, Cruella, Snow's Witch, Cindy's stepmother and stepsisters, Ursala (sp?), White Witch from Narnia, etc

I would say that only because I would think that it would be more for boys. I am not saying "only" for boys, but more for boys.

If I said how about a princess theme? Wouldn't that seem more girl orented. Not to say that boys don't like aladdin, a prince, or a Beast. But would be more girl oriented.

I was picturing something with over the top theming (like the All star icons), so a value is my first choice...but Id take it either way.

I tried to start a thread last week about a Villians resort! Not too many responses, tho! LOL!

I'd love to stay at a Villian-type place. Lots of Jack Skellington!

How about a Countries of the World theme...portraying the countries in World Showcase.....It wouldbe a moderate resort, obviously very large, and you would be able to put bldg requests , such as China or Morocco, etc....and all the country areas would have its own themed pool.....What a great food court it would have!!!!!

I always thought it would be cool to have a 'Parks' Resort that actually reflected each of the parks. Maybe a moderate where all the buildings are spaced equally from the lobby. I actually drew this up a couple of years ago one day when I was bored. All the pools would reflect the main icon... except I made the pool for MK into a Mickey head... but it could be a castle - I just didn't have the patience to draw one... What do you think?
