IF you were going to do a crazy thing like resort hop for three days & nights ;), and not do parks at all, what would your plan be?

Pick three resorts to explore, use pool, and dine at. You can either make your itinerary to stay at three separate DVC resorts or to stay at one DVC resort and just pool hop and dine at other resorts (DVC or not as long as pool hopping is aloud.)

What would you pick? (IF you would ever do something so crazy! Like us!)

Tell me your dream scenario. I might just steal your ideas. Yes, I am trying to pick resorts to do this at. We will be using Disney transport most likely, so I'm taking the resort's proximity to other resorts and entertainment into account.

I like spit stays but you are ambitious :worship: (not to mention brave!). I'd say, if anything goes, try resorts in 3 different areas. Example: One night at SSR - hang out by the pool, maybe Mom can get a spa treatment ;), stroll over to DTD at night for shopping & dinner. One night at BCV - get to use SAB for the day, stroll over to the Boardwalk at night for dinner & activities, maybe watch a movie on the beach. One night at BLT or VWL - quick access to all the character meals (for the kids) that they have at all the MK resorts, you could rent a boat and spend some time on Bay Lake, pool hop to the Poly or GF.

pool hop to the Poly or GF.

Which pools do not allow pool hopping? SAB, I know, but which others? Poly is okay?

I'm putting together some scenarios, and hope to get ideas from others too.

Without thinking about ease of transport from one resort to another, I'd pick to stay at VWL, AKV, and BCV.

With thinking of transport issues and without having researched everything yet. My first thought is possibly to stay at BLT all three nights and do pool hops to Poly and somewhere else, GF? Don't know what the pool is like or what there is to do there yet.

Only thing is BLT and BWV are our homes and we plan to stay at BLT for a week next May. It would be kind of nice to stay somewhere other than home since we're usually such plan in advance types that we'll be staying at home a lot over the years.

The resorts/pools that do not allow hopping are BCV/SAB, AKV/both pools and I think BLT/both pools. Other than those DVC members can hop to any pool on WDW property as long as it is not a "black out" date. I think you can find the B/O dates on the member website.

Another thought is to stay at THV (if available.) We'll have easy access to DTD and the amenities of SSR. Also my DH really wants to see Yeehaw Bob at POR, and it looks like that is close. This scenario doesn't excite me that much other than staying in the THV themselves.

More exciting to me would be to stay at VWL at least one night, eat at Whispering Canyon and go over to Fort Wilderness for the campfire sing-along and movie. Then we could move to either BCV or BLT for two days.

So many options! Help me figure out an exciting and (relatively) convenient option!

Yes, I agree - try something different!

AKV is wonderful....do your boys like animals? A savanna view villa would be perfect if they do. You might be able to snatch a THV for one night during your stay. Why not try for: AKV, VWL, THV!? (in no particular order)

Then I think I would try SSr or OKW for proximity to DTD, BCV for SAB access and all the great restaurants at the hotels near EPCOT, and AKV for all the great activities at the resort plus the animals outside. :goodvibes Sounds like the best of everything. And the AKV pools are the other pools you can't hop to, can only use them when staying there.:cool2:

The three hotel areas I would enjoy spending time checking out and eating at are:

1. Animal Kingdom. You have the animals, the museum quality artifacts, Boma, Jiko, and the pool is supposed to be nice.

2. Fort Wilderness. Rent a golf cart, wander around, do the cookout, fall alseep on the hammocks, rent a water mouse or a pontoon boat, eat at trail's end (ask for Ken), wander around meadow trading post, rent a canoe, ride a horse (this is one of our faves and a contributing factor to our purchase at VWL).

3. Beach club. I'd like to eat at every restaurant on the boardwalk, play in stormalong bay, and walk along the boardwalk.

Of the three, we've only done FW, a LOT!

3.

For one night at each resort:

BC (Stormalong Bay pool area, Beaches & Cream for awesome ice cream)
WLV (all-you-can-eat skillet and refillable shakes at Whispering Canyon Cafe, Electrical Lake Parade & then take a boat to MK and watch the fireworks from the boat)
AKV (Savannah view so you see animals from your balcony, eat at Jiko & Boma)

I also would stay at BLT to watch the fireworks from California Grill with the music piped in (but you can do that when you come back and stay there for your longer visit of course)

We often stay at 2 resorts, BCV and AKV, and when there's a third, it's VWL.

I like those pools. They have great places to eat and there are "extra" activities at each resort. BCV has a movie on the beach, AKV has the animals and different cultural activities and VWL has the bike trail.

If it's a time of year when we're not likely to enjoy SAB, we'll go for the Boardwalk standard view...got to save points when we can!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. We've visited POR for the ambiance and to listen to Bob Jackson at night. That's best when you have a car because it's not easy to get to POR!

The 'hops' have to be worth it AND I'd want to finish out with my favorite. If using Magical Express to take us to the airport on leaving then I'd schedule a late flight and make sure the last resort is very comfortable for hanging out at the last few hours.

I'd go with:

1) All Stars. (just for fun - never stayed at a value)
2) BLT - mk view
3) VWL (home to me & a great place to relax even if you have to hang out)
