Ok, I have been to WDW with the family several times, but I have a chance to spend sometime down there with out anyone else. And while we have walked around PI, DH and I are not a "club" types. But I was on the Solo thread and saw something about the Adventures Club. OK, what, when, and why should I do this? I think it is a comdey club? It sounded fun, but can't find a lot of info on it. And if I missed this at PI what else have I missed!?!?!
Of course I could look it up... but you all are more fun!
Info please, and thank you.

So has NO ONE ever been to this place? or should I post it at another site? Anyone, any info? :wave2:

Go there and Comedy Club, other than that it is mostly clubs. But there is a great mix of club-types to fit your musical preferances.

First, the big picture. DW and I are NOT club types, and we usually only end up seeing a show at the Comedy Warehouse and spending hours at AC.

What is AC? The premise is that it is a 1930's era clubhouse for world travellers (a place where Indy might have a drink between adventures), and - tonight only - it's open for Membership night.

Practically, it's related to those murder mysteries that you're in the middle of, but it's a gathering of eccentric characters, done by Second City-type improv folks. There are two main types of entertainment. The main bar area, where folks come in and interact with the near-dozen or so characters; and the "shows" (Library, Mask Room, Treasure Room (?)) where characters, either alone or as a group, put on scripted sketches.

We absolutely love it - it's something very different, very Disney, yet safe. We have been told that it's something that a sad few just don't get - but if you're the kind of person who does NOT want to be "goofed on" in public, if you blush and cower when the spotlight picks YOU out of the audience, please check out the AC - the rest of us enjoy public humiliation! :rotfl2:

Be well & Kungaloosh!

Kungaloosh DrTomorrow!

The Adventurer's Club is great. It's a fun spot to sit and have a drink and enjoy the characters and atmosphere and of course, have a good laugh (sometimes at yourself).

DrTomorrow is right...it does seem like the kind of place that Indy would have a drink. You get a real feeling for the time period. Always makes me think of The English Patient. It's great if dance clubs aren't really your thing but you want a fun night out.

The Adventurer's club is the best. My dh and I went there on our honeymoon years ago and it was great fun. You really need to pay attention to everything including the walls!!

I cant imagine any one not liking it if they have a sense of humor. This is the one place that I think makes PI worth it, (besides the great restaurants) as we are not really the club types.

Dont miss it if you get a chance.

Is the the AC - anytime or are there specific showtimes?? I can't wait - we are going to be there tomorrow!!

They have specific shows in the different rooms but they also have ongoing inteaction inthe main salon. I havent been in a number of years since i have kids now but when i was single it was my favorite place on PI.

I'm so glad I read this thread. We went to PI once and didn't really enjoy it, but the AC sounds like so much fun. We'll have to check it out when we go back in August.

I am one of those that does not like to be the center of attention  , so I didn't care for AC at all. I was so looking forward to it and I wanted to like it, I really did, but I guess I'm too self-concious to let loose and enjoy myself in that environment. :sad2: Most people who go love it, though. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! :rotfl2:

Many showers of Pixie Dust on all of you that have answered my questions on this thread.
I think I will love this place! And I am taking a bunch of college kids down, it sounds like they can also go in with me! We mostly love Monty Phython and this sounds like a live action Monty film gone astray! Looking forward to May!
Thanks DISers! You all rock!

Kungaloosh!! :cool1:

I love the AC!! Like Dr Tomorrow, dh and I generally enjoy a show or two at the Comedy Warehouse and then spend the rest of the night at AC.

As others have stated, if you are not the type that likes to be put on the spot, then it may not be for you. Still, I would try it, at least for a bit. And be sure to watch those sitting at the main bar!!! ;)

Oh yeah, and enjoy a good drink... :drinking1

I visited PI for the first time on my HONEYMOON and it was GREAT...although my DH and I arent the club types NOW...but i used to be back in the day.....(sigh) anyways, the clubs are cool....they are neet to see how different they all are. I love MANAQUINS (sp) it has a rotating stage and there are alot of CM's there (dont be shocked that most are gay)..lol. and 8Tracks is great....I collect glasses from there...we STILL use them to this day.
since it doesnt cost anything once you enter the park...it would be an "experience" to see all the clubs..

So, who remembers the words to the Adventurer's Club theme song? :sunny:

The year is 1937, and the hot spot for jungle explorers to meet is The Adventurers Club, located on Pleasure Island.

Here in this two-story outpost of civilization, world travelers join together to share tall tales over cool drinks, amid the eclectic souvenirs collected after countless journeys around the globe.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I invite you to charge your glasses and join in a chorus of the official Club Song, as lead by Colonel Critchlow Suchbench, head of Club security and official Gleemeister:

MARCHING ALONG
WE'RE ADVENTURERS
SINGING THE SONG
OF ADVENTURERS
UP OR DOWN
NORTH OR SOUTH
EAST OR WEST
AN ADVENTURERS LIFE IS BEST!! KUNGALOOSH

I MISS MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Disney better keep it open.

I need to add the song words to my little carry-so-I-don't-forget-it book I have made to take down to WDW this trip. Thanks folks, this is great. Silly, but great! Is there any special tume the words are sung to ? or does everyone just sing the words to any tune they want?

Oh no...you must sing it to the Adventurers Club tune. It goes like this:

hmm, hmmmmm, hmm, hmmm,
hm, hmmm, hmmmm. hmm,
humm, hmm, hmmmm , hm,
etc, etc.....

Hows that ?? :earboy2: :rotfl:
