Apologies if this has already been posted or is old news but during our trip last week, we ate at three different restaurants (Blue Bayou, Magic Key Terrace, and Lamplight Lounge) and all of them gave us actual physical menus by default instead of pointing us to use our phones. Maybe I'm the only one who cared about this but I'm so happy that the push to view the menu on your phone wasn't permanent!

I noticed at Lamplight they were back last week. I know it's a small thing but much prefer this.
While I often use the app to browse options ahead of time , I still like using the regular menu myself.

Carnations Cafe offered, but the default is the digital. Neither Carthay Alfresco or Cafe Orleans offered them over the weekend.

We were given physical menus at Carthay last week and I really prefer it since many of the online menus are not that user-friendly, at least for me. At Black Tap, you do almost everything through your phone. After they seat you, you order online and pay online as well. Someone brought us the food but we rarely interacted with any staff. It was kind of nice in some ways, but it seemed weird. We ordered beers, then food. The food came out first. We were waiting for the bill and then realized we just paid on our phones. I did like that I could order from the kid's menu without anyone telling me I had to be under 12.

This wasn't my experience last Thursday and was my first time at Black Tap. They metered people in but had cashiers and a person took my order at the counter and was given a number, they had a printed menu at the counter to read as well with descriptions. I physically paid with my card too. I went around noon Thursday the 18th. On a side note I'm really regretting not going there sooner because the burger I had was one of the best. Wagyu steakhouse was cooked perfect. I will say took a bit to get my classic shake but understandable since most ordered the crazy shakes and they take prep time.

Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong one? Was it Ballast Point? We were outside on the 2nd floor terrace. Wonderful food--the kids fish and chips were the best fish and chips I've had in years.

Oh yeah that would be Ballast Point on the second floor. I * almost * went there instead but no regrets about my choice. I need to find time to post some reviews but these 12 hour shifts at the jail are exhausting right now..lol.

A burger place here in NYC has that - scan, order, and pay at your table. It does make it easy if you're with a group and wanting to each pay your own way - especially if you have someone in the group who regularly orders a LOT and wants to split the bill evenly even if others ordered only salads.
