Ok experts, I just spent a few days at the World this past weekend and shot in RAW for the first time ever. I've started working on the pics and just want to know if I'm on the right track. I've never processed RAW files before. Here's a before and after. If anyone has the time, can you please offer any tips, suggestions or advice on what you would do differently?

Thanks so much for any help anyone has to offer. If it weren't for the amazing work on this board, I'd still be walking around with my disposable camera..LOL

The first place I start with any photo is getting the White Balance adjusted. This is a bit too warm (yellow) for me. Not sure which program you are using, but drag your white balance slider a little to the blue side. The blacks can use a bump up to help the washed out sky. The best part of RAW is that you can experiment until you get it just right without destroying the original file.

The other problem is that if you color correct for the warmness, you lose the warm red color in the flowers.

One solution -
dupe layer
cooling filter
erase tool (12% soft brush) over red flowers until it looks good
