I have asked this before but cannot find the theard now. What is the best place for photosharing and also printing pics.

I know caryndiva and lurkyloo told me about a website that professionals use to print photos.

Thanks

We used Mpix.com. It's the consumer side of Millers Lab, which many many pro photographers use to print their pictures. The quality is better than Snapfish, Shutterfly, et al but it only costs a little bit more - and WAY less than you would pay if you ordered prints from your photographer.

www.mpix.com

As for photosharing, I'd love to see what others have to offer. So far I am less than impressed with Flickr and Photobucket for this purpose...

Amen, sister!

My only beef with mpix (and you've brought this up, lurklyloo) is the size of their photo books. Why, oh, why won't they do a 12x12???

I'm working on one in blurb right now!

I am actually getting my CD of images this week and was planning on creating an album or a couple. So Mpix.com, is there a fee to be a member and are they pretty user friendly??

thanks,
anna

Mpix is free - it's just like using Snapfish or Shutterfly. :thumbsup2 You upload your pictures, select the sizes you want and type of paper (they have a metallic finish that is amazing - the photos seem to glow), and check out.

As Heidi said, though, their album sizes are limited, and I believe the page counts are too.

I am doing our wedding album as a coffee table book using Blurb.com. They let you have 400+ pages, and they have a neat 11x13 (landscape) size that's the biggest I've found so far. We did our engagement photo guest book and a small "best of" softcover wedding book through Blurb and really liked them.

They have the cheapest prices of any book-making website, but the drawback is that some people have had printing problems with them. When this happened to us with our engagement book, they corrected the problems in about 2 tries, but it can be a hassle going back and forth with customer service.
