Hi, just wanted to know is the photo service worth it? How much does it cost? How does it work? Does a photographer follow you around and take pictures from beginning to end of your cruise? Thanks.....

While there are private photo sessions, there is also photographs who will take your picture here and there. There is a place on the ship called Shutters where you can go and take a look at all the pictures you have taken (it's now on a screen or at least it is on the Disney Wonder) and you decide if you buy it or not.

I can't remember if a picture is 15 or 20$ each but you can also buy a package. There is usually a "frame" around it but no magic shots.

Take note that you can also get a CM to take your picture with your phone. Sometimes they are just as good.

Individual prices are:
8X10 print - $20.95
6X8 print - $14.95
Digital photo each - $20.95

The packages are 6 ($99.95), 10 ($149.95), 15 ($199.95), and 20 ($249.95 precruise) photos. Different length cruises have different options. You can also purchase an all prints package (all your photos printed) for the same cost as the length of cruise full digital package.

The length of cruise digital package cost varies with length of cruise. The prices I've seen are (for pre-cruise purchase/onboard cost):
7 night $295.95/$100.00 to add prints/$349.95, $100.00 to add prints;
5 night $249.95/$50.00 to add prints;
4 night $194.95/$75.00 to add prints/$229.95, $75.00 to add prints;
2 night $199.95/$50.00 to add prints

Special digital package prices (or just the all prints package)
14 night $339.95/$100.00 to add prints;
12 night $399.95/$100.00 to add prints

The 6, 10, 15, & 20 photo packages are the full digital package with 6, 10, 15, or 20 photos unlocked for your access once home.

INFORMATION ABOUT WHO CAN BE ON THE CDs (from the MyCruisePhotos.com website):
The following are benefits of your photo package (digital or print):

· When purchasing any size digital photo package, you will take home all the photos seen on your kiosk account and can choose which photos to keep from home.

· Photos of your children aged 21 and under, who may be traveling in a separate stateroom are included.

· Artistic borders and templates as seen on all printed photos are included.

· Digital photos are in a size and resolution that allow for printing up to 8X10.

· “Unlimited” photos means all the photos in your photo kiosk account and/or all the photos prints that YOU collect while adhering to these terms.


The following is not included with your photo package (digital or print):

· Photos of others in your party not staying in your stateroom.

· Group photos, weddings, Quinces and other special occasion photography services.

· Generic stock photos of the ship, characters, ports of call, etc.

There are a lot of photo ops on the ship. They have different backgrounds set up before and after dinners. Some with characters some with not so you can get nice family pictures. You can do this as many times as you like you stand in line. They sometimes have some during the day on sea days.

Your first picture will be before you even get on the ship if you want it. Some people go right by if they have done this before.

They also come around a few times at the restaurants , on formal and pirate night, if you have dinner at Palo or Remey. At most of the character interactions there is a photographer but not all so having your own camera or phone with you is a good thing.

I love getting the pictures , it is hard to get my family together now for pictures. If you don't like a picture you leave it there and try again...lol We have so many taken it is hard to leave some behind especially when the kids were small and dressed up as a princess.

Has anyone tried using one room number for a large group? We just went on our first Disney cruise with my parents (a group of 8 in 2 staterooms) and when we went to get the pictures, on disembarkation day, we finally got all pictures transferred to one room and got the unlimited package. We decided that our next Disney Cruise we are telling the photographers just one room number. So I was just wondering if anyone else has experience doing this?
