Photos on Soarin'

I hope you're joking. What would be the point of using a flash on soaring, we're you're just going to wash out the projected image?

This is exactly what happened the four times I tried to use external video lighting.

Last time I was on it all I kept hearing was "You're not supposed to be smoking on the rides!" from the pregnant lady sitting next to me.

I think that it is bad that they don't let you use a flash on Soarin'. It's too dark to get good shots without a flash. And don't get me started on it bothering other people. A flash lasts for less than 1/1000th of a second. If someone takes 50 flash pictures, that's still less than 1/2 of a percent of the ride.

Actually, 50 flash pictures x 1/1000 sec per flash = 0.05 seconds of total flash time! That's WAY less than 1 second of total flash exposure.

So I guess I, too, don't see what the big deal is with using flash on rides.

That 1/1000th second flash has an effect on the human eye that lasts much longer.

Mom2rtk~ I've taken shots w/ no flash on Soaring in DCA. I always keep my camera on me slung diagonally. No one said anything, even during belt check. When the lights went down I shot from my lap. Make sure you turn off any external lighting and photo assist lights.

Geez, if I didn't have my pictures from the ride, I'd go crazy between trips! We just had to postpone our tentative January 2011 trip because of my work. I take pictures in almost every ride without flash of course!
