:badpc: DH's laptop has gone out on us again. :charac2: So, rather than taking a trip with us to WDW next week, it will be going in for repair. Main reason to take it was to transfer photos from the flash card to cd. Well, that isn't going to happen now. I was just wondering if there was a photo store at WDW that did this service for a fee. If not, I may have to be buying another card. TIA

I would buy another card or two for your pictures. To have them put on a CD is expensive at WDW. If you can go offsite to Walgreen's it is very reasonable.

Remember to make sure the images are readable on the CD before you delete them from your memory card. You should also make another back up CD of the images.

I agree with Safetymom...take an extra memory card and develope them or burn to a disk when you get home if you don't want to travel offsite.

If you have an iPod, you can get a media reader (~$100 I think), and download them to that...then when you get home, transfer to your computer. Just another possibility, and very small to transport!

If your budget provides the funds you might consider a long-term solution - a hand held memory storage device like Smartdisk or Wolverine. Your local professional or upper end photo store should have them.

They allow you do download into their miniature, handheld, hard drive...ranging from 20-80GB of memory designed for digital photography. These types of devices also have the ability to play MP3, play videos, and typically have a 3.5in LCD to review, rotate, zoom-in or out and pan. They also allow you to run a slide show too and usually starting around $150-180 dollars for the smaller memory devices.

I agree with the *get another card* idea. That's what we did for our Disneymoon, and the extra card comes in handy, still. I never have to worry about taking too many pictures. I know I can catch everything without worry.
