If dad and mom and one child are in one stateroom and grandma and 2 children are in the other, can they share the photo package? Thanks!!

Mostly yes - you have to buy the package for dad & mom's stateroom then have it linked to the other stateroom on board, at Shutters. But, the "rule" is supposed to be that if there are solo pics of the other adult (grandma), those aren't supposed to be included. Pics of your minor children with grandma should be included.

Each room must purchase their own package. If only one room purchases the full package, only those photos with someone from the purchasing room in them will be included.

As noted, if the 2 children in Grandma's room are minor children, they can be included in Mom & Dad's photo package, but any photos with Grandma only wouldn't be.

That said, there are reports of Grandma only photos being included on occasion.

Why don't you put Mom and Grandma with one child in one room and Dad and 2 kids in the other. Then have Mom buy the package and have them link her immediate family to the room. That way, Grandma is in the room that has the package and Dad and kids are in the linked room, because they are Mom's immediate family.

But then, Dad wouldn't be included, should there be any photos of only Dad.

When covering people in a second room on one package, the people included in the second room must be minor children.

Except that Dad and Mom and kids are one family. They are all included for that reason.

Edit: Now that you've questioned my thinking, I'm going to go back and check if that would work. I know it works when it's just the nuclear family, but I don't know if it would work with an extended family member in one room.

Technically, you won't be able to buy a package that includes the ability to get individual photos of all 5 people. In the OP version, if the "Mom and Dad" stateroom buys the package, then the package includes any pictures that include the Mom, Dad, or either kid. So if Grandma is in a group shot with one of them, it is included. But they only add single photos of kids in other staterooms, not adults (even married ones).
Having said that, on our last cruise my mother in law joined us, and when we went to Shutters to find out how much it would cost to add her to our photo package they just sprinkled some pixie dust and said, "Oh, she probably won't be in too many pictures just by herself" and added her for free.

If you open the link provided it says:
· Photos of your children aged 21 and under, who may be traveling in a separate stateroom are included.

And

Note: "Kids under 21" statement.

True, but when I emailed them and asked the question of whether my DH would be included if he's in a separate stateroom, the reply (last January, mind you) was:

"Yes as long as the two cabins consist of Mom, Dad, and your minor children under 21. "

I know we've never had any trouble linking staterooms, but then, I've only travelled as one nuclear family, not extended family. This year will be our first with another family member, as well.

I remember Micheal Kay found out the hard way about this on one of his first cruises. He was not happy about it at all. I think it was with a cruise with his family and some of his or their shots didn't get included because of only one room getting the package.

I hope you don't mind if I piggy back on this? I have two rooms, one with myself and my boyfriend the other with my two children (18) and his son (21). If I purchase the photo package for my room I will be able to also get the pic of my children just not any pics that are just of the 21 year old?

My best guess - yes, only photos that include at least you, your boyfriend, or your (minor) children would be included in the package.

Now that you say that, I will also toss in that on our first cruise, we had two connecting inside staterooms (because due to a quirk in the price structure it was only $84 more to get two inside cabins than 1 inside cabin). My wife and one son were registered in one room and I and my other son was registered in the other. We only bought one photo package and got everyone in it. Maybe there is an exception to the rule when there aren't any other people other than the nuclear family in the rooms, since they know that you have to put an adult in each for registration.

Yes. And that's the question. Can there be anyone besides the nuclear family included by virtue of residing in the same stateroom as the purchaser whose immediate family is across two rooms?

We've had this exact scenario twice. We went to Shutters on the first day and they linked the rooms and we received all pictures. All of the solo shots of "grandma" were included. My husband and I with 2 kids were in 1 room and my mom and 2 of my other kids were in the 2nd room.

I was in a similar situation. The other stateroom is the one that officially bought the package. They were with us for most of the pictures we took so we were always giving their room number. To the point that when my cabinmate and I were alone we just said that room number because its what first popped in our heads. Our photos were included with our friends package.
