Photopass

I guess I don't really understand how this works. You get your picture taken by a CM and they give you a card. You keep the card and present to another photographer so they can add more pictures to it. You can then go online and order the pictures if you want. So, what is the Photopass and Photopass+? I'm trying to see if it is worth buying and what am I buying.

If you pre-buy the photo CD you get a discount and it gives you the rights to all of the photos you get taken by the CM's in the park. You can also just buy photos individually.

Photopass+ also includes ride photos and the photos from some character meals. It's new and I haven't tried it yet, so I can't comment on it.

We usually get the photopass CD so that we have good pictures of the whole family together. Plus my daughter loves the magic shots.

We too have also purchased the photo pass cd at the end of our trip. We for some reason always forget to purchase out photos on line if we don't. Last year we lost an amazing grand gathering photo of 24 of us in front of the castle. Only one we had of the whole group together too. If you don't purchase the cd, you have a window of time in which you can order your prints before your card expires.

Best tip I have read about the PhotoPass....Use your camera or phone to take a picture of the PhotoPass card number as soon as you get it. That way, if you lose the card you can still get your pictures after the trip.

I've been wondering this too! So it sounds like Photopass + is just an addition to regular photopass which still exists. I was hoping they hadn't eliminated the old one - I've been counting on doing that again.

I thought at one point there was a discount to pre-order them? I had to log into the site JUST to find the price and it was about 169.00 for the CD. Maybe I was in the wrong place..but I went to the actual Photopass site and searched and searched for the pricing. Does anyone know how much they are to pre-order or did they do away with that special? TIA

There was a recent price increase in the pre-order discount and price if you order after you get home.

The new pre-order price is $119.95.
The price is $169.95 if you buy after you get to park or after you return home.

I found this info on another site. Just an FYI in case you were wondering about pre-paying for the Photopass CD with the discount and then upgrading to the Photopass+. So, the discount doesn't really work if you are going to upgrade. You will still end up paying the same amount with or without the pre-order discount.

"You cannot pre-order PhotoPass+, but if you pre-order a regular PhotoCD in advance of your trip you can pay to upgrade to PhotoPass+. However, you will lose the pre-order discount"
