I went to WDW last May and had SO much fun using the photographers! This year we're going to DL and am wondering if there are many PhotoPass Photographers around? On my last trip to DL I think I only saw 3 or 4 the entire time I was there.

When I was at DL in November, I noticed fewer PhotoPass Photographers than I recall seeing at WDW, but the lines to get a photo were shorter and one of the photographers spent a lot of time with us doing a variety of shots. I got a CD and I had quite a few less photos on it when compared to my CDs with my WDW photos. Nonetheless, I was happy.

Oh, and Disney did lose some of my photos. I e-mailed them about it and they recovered them, but I'm not sure if there are others I'm missing. I've only noticed this at DL.

we were at wdw in sept and there were lots and lots of photogs. I was actually at dl last friday and sunday and there were hardly any photogs. One in front of the castle, one on main street, one at the princess fantasy faire but nothing like wdw where they seemed to be all over. In dca I only saw 2: one with the characters just outside bugs life and one in front of the waterfall. Obviously there could have been more but I didn't see them and I love photopass pix!

There are about the same amount, though in DCA some are missing because of construction walls in the background of normal vantage points. Of course at any park they are at the character greetings.

Of course the price is different which helps since the DLR and WDW trips are usually different lengths. Compared to $149 at WDW $59 at DLR looks cheap. It just may be harder to get a proportional amount of picture if you don't work at it.

I agree with the PP's, there are definitely less photographers at DLR. At WDW, they are everywhere. At DLR, they were definitely in short supply.

There are less PP at DLR vs. WDW but then you are paying less for the CD. $59.95 at DLR and $149.95 (or $99.95 prepay) at WDW.

That being said I have noticed less PP photogs in DLR compared to previous years. But I just heard today that there will be a new venue (starting this weekend) where there will be many characters available for Meet 'n Greets.

I have 2 personal favs PP photogs who take their time with taking pix and have become our DL friends. We search them out when we are there. ;)

So, do you have to preorder the DLR photopass CD in order to get the $59 price or do I get it while I am there? You have to preorder the WDW one in order to get the $99 price that's why I'm checking - thanks!

No $59 is normal.

They do have an offer to get a free gallery CD with the PhotoCD. There is a whole thread about it. I'll add it if I can find it.

Here it is.

Thank you I'm still a little confused about how to make edits and add borderes, but I asked some questions on the other thread. Thanks for sending me that way. WDW and DLR seems to be a little different in this aspect. I appreciate your help!

Hi,

I thought I would bump this thread with a couple of questions.

1. I note that now there is an option to download the CD rather than pay the postage. Has anyone done this? It would suit us very well as the postage to Australia is $15.

2. On the PhotoCD page it notes in the fine print that "All photos (including those with added borders) will default to 4 x 6 unless you save in another size while editing". However also on the same page it states it comes with a "Limited Licence so that you can print the photos in the sizes you want". So which is it? Can the photo's be resized? Or is it more of an issue for the ones with added borders?

I appreciate the advice offered here and on other threads that made our trip a magical and life changing experience.

Cheers

Dean

There is an issue that if you have borders and want to print at a proportion that isn't 4x6, parts will be cut off. Go to http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/ and scroll down to about 3/4 down to see a good example.

I'm so glad you had a great trip! :goodvibes

Are there in DLR any Onride photos that are PhotoPass enabled (like TestTrack in WDW) ?

Not like TT where you can add it for free.

Only when you pay the big amount to add it to your account.

Lewdannie - we just returned from DLR two weeks back and we used the photo pass system ALoT! We ended up with close to 150 pictures by the end of the week! It was wonderful! We thought photographers were at a decent amount of places, just had to keep our eyes open as they'd get lost in the crowds. We found not many people were using them to be honest. A real shame IMO.

Since we are Canadian we opted to do the download which worked great (no shipping.) you just choose that option, pay, and then they email you when to return to the site to download (it was about 2 hours later.)
There is also an option of buying it while you are at the park to avoid the shipping costs.

We would happily get this again!

Carolyn :)
