photopass

Can anyone explain this to me, I think I have the name of it right. You get some kind of card that keeps track of your photos taken at disney and then you have the option to buy them online? Is there a fee for this service if you don't end up buying them? I thought I saw some where a CD that cost $99 what is that? am I talking about 2 different things. I don't have any idea. Thanks for the help

We used Photopass last year. When we got home I looked at our photos on line and purchased one (in front of the tower of terror). You can crop them and add borders to them. There is no charge if you don't buy. I think its a great idea but our photos from Epcot never showed up. I'm sure we'll do it again this year.

We always use Photopass. We really like it. In the past we waited till we got home and purchased them online. This past year we bought the CD for $99.00. You can print all you want of them after you get home. You just can't get their special borders. You take your Photopass into one of the camera shops and they download all of them on a CD for you.

We're leaving very soon for our Grand Gathering at WDW. We have mulitple families . . . us, my parents, my brother's family, my sister's family, mother-in-law. I'm certain we'll be touring separately most of the time. Can we all use the same PhotoPass number? Our thinking was that this would be a great way for all of us to get pictures of each other at our gathering.

OK duke - you can't use the same photopass number, because they scan the bar code on the back of the photopass card.

They may, however be able to link the cards if you present them all at the same time at a photo shop for a CD. This you will have to ask them directly if it is possible.

We used it on our recent trip. It is great. They will take multiple pictures and individuals if you ask them. We loaded up our card and took home about 65 pictures for $99. I felt I didn't even use the service enough.

They also have photographers at most of the character stations, and I hear they are adding more photopass places all the time.

Another tip - you may want to label your card when you first receive it so if it is busy this is ensure you get your card back. They are pretty good about it, but I can see the chance of getting them mixed up because they all look the same.

Yep as everyone said there is no charge for this service even if you don't buy any pics. Its great for good family pics. They can still be viewed in the park if needed or online at home and purchased in either

THINK I've heard that up to 10 cards can be added together and also over a fairly lengthy period of time so families can all add to the same disc.

I still don't get this . Why would anyone pay $99 for cd of some pictures. You can give your camera to any CM..even the ones taking the photopass pics to take your picture with your own camera.

I pay .15 per picture at my Costco..I would have to get 660 pics taken!!!!! OK plus the $2 to get them on CD.

Are cute borders worth $99???? or am I totally missing something here.

I guess if the photos are good then you may want them. Some of the photos have enhancement like having Simba in your hands at AK and tinkerbelle at MGM. There were various places that can have them and they are cool. Also the borders are good and make it a special treat. Personally we've never brought any cause as you said you can ask the CM to take one on your camera
