Can someone explain the Photopass program for me? I have read about the CD being available, but what are your other options? Where can the CD's be purchased? How does the program work? Do you have to ask to have a picture taken? Are the photographers widely available?
Any info will be appreciated.
I am off to the Poly for my first time with my grandchildren on Sunday. I am so very excited. :cool1:
Thanks for any information.

You will find the official Disney photographers all over the place. We always have a family shot done at the entrance to each park. The first time you have a photo done, you will be given a credit card type card. This is your card for the duration. Each and every time you have one of those photographs done, give the photographer the card, it will be swiped and the photo added to your collection. Then, at the end of the trip you can have a CD made with all the photos on it.
I have the same photo pass card from 3 trips back. I just keep reusing it.
Now, if they could just figure out a way to add those attraction photos, like Splash Mt or RnRC, it would be perfect!!

Good questions because I hadn't heard anything about this program either but sounds like a great idea. Is it an expensive option? How nice to not have to stop another person to take a photo for us!

I hope this helps a little...

I have read about the CD being available, but what are your other options? You can purchase individual photos that are taking during your visit on line, you have 30 days (sometimes more) during which the photos are availalbe on line.
Where can the CD's be purchased? I am not sure of the locations - I overheard someone say in ToonTown, and I think the Kodak store in EPCOT - near Spaceship Earth - I do not know these locations for certain.

How does the program work? Do you have to ask to have a picture taken? Are the photographers widely available? You will see the Disney photographers around the main "trademark" of each park - on Main St in front of the castle, in MGM in front of the Hat, AK - in Front of the Tree of Life and EPCOT in front of Spaceship Earth near the main entrance. They are also available at many of the character greeting locations - Character Connection in EPCOT, Toon Town in MK, Character Greeting Trails in AK, and different locations in MGM - these of course are not the only locations - but the ones that I notice most frequently. If the photographer is somewhere that you want a photo taken, if they do not offer to you, you can ask them. Once you get your first photo taken by them, they will give you a card which will be scanned with your photo info, and you can just take that with you throughout your trip and use the same one each time. You just hand it to the photographer.

By the end of the trip you will have all your pics available. If you choose to buy the CD ($99 - I believe) you can take it home and you have rights to take it and have copies made (some folks are having trouble with Wal-Mart). If you choose to order them from home on line you can do that as well. They are not cheap, but they usually have a discount if you spend say $60 (it changes every month). I think either way (I know online for sure) you can have borders, or logos, signature, etc added to your photos to enhance them.

I have seen some cute pics where they pose the family say cupping their hands and then in the actual photo there is a character sitting there - Tinkerbelle I think I have seen. I have also seen a family pointing at the ground, and the photo is enhanced to have Stitch coming out of the hole!

I don't know the process for buying the CD, so hopefully someone else can help you with that!

Have a great trip!

Oh one more thing - at all the locations that the photographers are - you can also take you own photos - I usually do but get them on the card as well, just in case. It's great for families who want everyone in the photo. I on the other hand prefer to be the photographer, not the photographee!!!

The website with some information about buying them on line is www.disneyphotopass.com

Thanks for the quick reply!
I didn't use Photopass on our trip in October, and I never really paid attention to the post that explained it.
Another question. I thought I read once where the photos were also available on line once you got home. Is that the case? Can you down load them? Can more than one person view them on line?
Thanks for all the info.

You can pay per photo and photos at Disney are expensive. I think they're $12.95 for a 5x7 and now with Photopass you don't have to buy them before you leave the park, you can buy them from the comfort of your home.

And with the CD, it's $99 but you get all the photos taken (up to 300 I believe) on the CD and can them print them however/where ever you want. Its a great deal if you get LOTS of photos taken. We never do. We had 58 last trip and many were duplicates.

Photopass is the name of the program of being able to buy the Disney photos at home or on the CD.

There are Photopass photographers all around the parks...at the entrances and at character lines etc...

I can't wait for them to include the ride photos!

You can view and order the photos on line, but you can not print them. They have them coded so that you can't right click and print or save the photo (you can save it, but it is postage stamp sized!)

Yes, that's what Photopass is all about! You can now see them and buy them from home and you don't have to buy them before you leave the parks like we used to have to do. They cost the same as if you bought them in the parks.

You cannot download them but you can buy them.

I think anyone can view them if you give them the password (the log in info).

It's a great feature!

QUOTE]

You can "share" the photos on line by emailing through the Photopass site - this way they don't need a password.

http://disneyphotopass.go.com/DPI/r.d?i=540761786 - here our our photos from recent weeks.

Thanks. I knew you could share but I couldn't remember the best way since it's been awhile since I've had photos on there!
