Can someone explain the Photopass program for me?
I have read about the CD being available, but what are your other options?
You can purchase individual photos that are taking during your visit on line, you have 30 days (sometimes more) during which the photos are availalbe on line.
Where can the CD's be purchased?
I am not sure of the locations - I overheard someone say in ToonTown, and I think the Kodak store in EPCOT - near Spaceship Earth - I do not know these locations for certain.
How does the program work? Do you have to ask to have a picture taken? Are the photographers widely available?
You will see the Disney photographers around the main "trademark" of each park - on Main St in front of the castle, in MGM in front of the Hat, AK - in Front of the Tree of Life and EPCOT in front of Spaceship Earth near the main entrance. They are also available at many of the character greeting locations - Character Connection in EPCOT, Toon Town in MK, Character Greeting Trails in AK, and different locations in MGM - these of course are not the only locations - but the ones that I notice most frequently. If the photographer is somewhere that you want a photo taken, if they do not offer to you, you can ask them. Once you get your first photo taken by them, they will give you a card which will be scanned with your photo info, and you can just take that with you throughout your trip and use the same one each time. You just hand it to the photographer.
By the end of the trip you will have all your pics available. If you choose to buy the CD ($99 - I believe) you can take it home and you have rights to take it and have copies made (some folks are having trouble with Wal-Mart). If you choose to order them from home on line you can do that as well. They are not cheap, but they usually have a discount if you spend say $60 (it changes every month). I think either way (I know online for sure) you can have borders, or logos, signature, etc added to your photos to enhance them.
I have seen some cute pics where they pose the family say cupping their hands and then in the actual photo there is a character sitting there - Tinkerbelle I think I have seen. I have also seen a family pointing at the ground, and the photo is enhanced to have Stitch coming out of the hole!
I don't know the process for buying the CD, so hopefully someone else can help you with that!
Have a great trip!
Oh one more thing - at all the locations that the photographers are - you can also take you own photos - I usually do but get them on the card as well, just in case. It's great for families who want everyone in the photo. I on the other hand prefer to be the photographer, not the photographee!!!
