PhotoPass - Train those photographers!

We have a few where there should have been a character in the picture with us (on our hands, etc.) and there's nothing there! Not really going to order that one!
 
Ours turned out okay, but we always took additional pics with our digital and well, that's paid for and Snapfish has prints for 12 cents so guess which ones we're keeping?

However, to speak to the inexperienced photographers - on Mothers Day at Epcot they had free photos for mom. Me, my mom, and my DH had one done. They had 2 stools and the photographer wanted me and my mom to sit on the stools and have my 6'5 husband stand behind - now, anyone could figure out that a super tall person shouldn't be standing behind two seated people, so we said that we'd rather him sit and one of us stand behind since we are pretty short. He reluctantly agreed, and the pics turned out great!
 
Our pictures came out okay but we somehow managed to end up with a few of someone elses pictures..... :confused3
 
At 1st I was thinking good luck reporting missing pictures but I bet they do have good luck coming up with them because they are more than likely in the series just before or after them. I'm really excited about this because I'm really bad about taking pictures, even bad pictures are better than no pictures.

Thanks for the info about reporting missing pics - We only have one missing but it is the one that the kids are holding Simba at AK - also we had a pic of another family in ours - I recognized them as the family in front of us meeting Minnie - so it must be because they were right before us? Weird - other than that they all turned out well.

We were told that those pictures (holding Tinkerbell or baby Simba) were the only ones that were not going to be available online. They told us that if any characters are added, they will only be available to purchase in the park. I guess they should have told ya'll. Sorry! :confused3

Our characters ones are online at the Photopass right now, and my mom has ordered her character pics with Tinkerbell and Stitch several times online. We've never taken time to look at them in the park, they are all online.
 
Ours came out pretty good, and one was absolutely great! They took a close-up of DD shortly after her Barbers Shop visit (think Mickey pixie dust in her hair) with the castle in the background. It came out so great, that my in-laws bought a copy after I shared the photos online!

Our February pictures were still active. Guess they're not strict about the 30-day time limit yet.
 
We just got back, all our pictures were there, many of them great and no one we didn't know as the stars in any of the pictures! :cool1:

We checked our pictures at the parks, but it was nice knowing that we could wait until the paycheck AFTER the trip to order the pictures!

I do this as well. For a little while I was wondering if the PhotoPass photographers were told to purposely mess up people's pictures taken with their own cameras. That sounds harsh, but it would mean you would be more likely to buy their picture. Reason I thought this is because 5 or 6 of the PhotoPass people have "taken our picture" with the camera off. I handed it to them on and mysteriously I get it back turned off and with no picture. Also, some lady took the picture when the wind was blowing my hair across my face and she WOULD NOT retake it. I wondered this, too, actually, but the pictures they took on my camera actually came out better than the ones on my PP.

Also, one photo that I was really looking forward to getting on my PP was when the photographer asked us to hold a hat and he said that Stitch would appear in it. When I got home and checked online, though, this photo was missing. I think Disney needs to work on this, since so many peoples' photos are missing, etc. It is a great idea, though, and I will definitely take advantage of it on my next trip!
 
Wanted to update on my photopass experience. I did order a few of the good photo's and they came in the mail today. They look great. I really wish I had more useable photo's as I would have bought all of them! I only used the optional borders on one of them, a Star Wars Weekend one, and it came out really well. I wasn't all that impressed with the MNSSH party one, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully once the photographers get used to the speed in which they are required to work, the quality of the photo's composition will improve. When I left the Toontown Hall of Fame, the guy at the exit was pretty pushy about seeing my photo's before I left, I said I was going to check them on line, and he mentioned that I wouldn't get such a good deal. Someone else mentioned here about them saying she could not get Tink online, but she was on my online shots. I thought that was kind of odd, I wonder if Kodak or Disney lose money if you by them through the internet? Which would be why they are pushing you to buy them at the park, or perhaps they are concerned about job loss.
