Just wondering how this is working out for people and how much are the pics once I get home and want copies?

Thanks!!
Bev

Photopass is a really good idea that needs work.

Of the 35 photopass pictures we had taken on our last trip there are four that I'm thinking of buying, other than that alot of the photos aren't that great. They need better photographers or better training or something. I sure wouldn't rely only on Photopass for important pictures!

It's not cheap! One 5x7 is $12.95, but I think there is a special right now...if you order $40 or more worth of pictures you get 20% off.

Are the prices for photopass the same that are in the park? I thought a 5X7 was around $9.95 in the parks. Unless I am thinking that if you buy 1 your next pictures are $9.95.

I have been hearing negative comments on photopass. I still think I will get them done at the park. Then if a picture did not come out I still have time to capture it again.

My advice is to have the photographers take your picture w/ your camera as well. When we got home we were missing about half of our pictures and had a couple that were not ours.
We tried to look at them while we were there but our Wi-Fi connection was so slow it would not bring up the pictures. I asked as well if there was any place at WDW where I could look at the pictures before we left and they said no. I was pretty disappaointed and the ones in front of the castle were not there.

Yeah, PhotoPass has a few bugs to work out, like folks getting the wrong pics, missing pics, and of course the fact that many of the photographers are not very good at photographic composition.

Still, the system is good, and the prices are the same as in the parks, so with a little improvement I'm sure PhotoPass will be around for quite a while.

I haven't bought any pics from it yet, although I have saved the thumbnail views.

I spoke to a PhotoPass photographer, a very attractive young lady working in the gift shop at Grand Floridian, and she said that Disney does intend to add ride photos to the system at some point in the future, probably not till next summer at the earliest.

I agree that it is a really good concept but it needs some work. On our last day in the MK, we had 2 family photos in front of the castle. We had the pictures made around 6:00, the photographer said they would be available for viewing and purchase within 90 minutes. At 9:00 I went to try to view and purchase, they didn't have them there and worse, had only 3 pictures out of probably 10 that we had done throughout the week. The CM was really rude and snotty about it (but that's a whole other subject) - finally said to come back in 15 minutes because more pictures were downloading. I was really upset because my husband had left the park at that point and we wouldn't have an opportunity for another picture. Anyway, I tried to go back a couple of hours later but the line was sooo long and I just didn't feel like dealing with it. When we got home, I checked online and they are there, but the pictures are horrible. In one, you can't even see the castle, it's like he zoomed in on us, and the other the top of the castle is cut off. I am still missing several pictures, and I have 2 of somebody elses' pictures as well.

I highly recommend to get your pictures made early in the week, so you can get them remade if possible. And those photographers need some training!!

I always check my pictures in each park before I leave on the same day that they were taken. I dont want to leave my memories to chance. Then I still have time to retake while we are there. That said I have always had GREAT pics everytime and they have been just perfect. Even though I viewed my pics before I left the park in April I checked when I got home and everything was fine.... but I had only 3 pics as it was a short trip. I think possibly the more pics you have on there probably the more margin for error. I have also heard of problems like tink , simba, and stich not coming out online cause they were not put into the picture prior to leaving.

I'm really hoping to take advantage of photopass. I will also have my digi camera ofcourse but I am one that usually buys lots of pictures they take while there and I was looking forward to no lines, able to check them before buying (well, without being rushed with a huge line behind you and all that I mean).

asked as well if there was any place at WDW where I could look at the pictures before we left and they said no.
Oh no... I was thinking we could get online at the resort computers they have and check them there and maybe even order them there? Why won't it work on their computers? I can go online to any other website on their computers- why not the photopass website???

DH was down there with the kids this weekend. He had photos taken Friday and Saturday morning. I ordered them Saturday night, they arrived today and they are WONDERFUL! Hope they get all the bugs worked out - sounds like the service is really inconsistent right now.

We had about 12 pictures taken during our week stay. All of the pics were available for viewing (we checked before we left each park) however, if you bought the picture at the park I found the cheapest one to be $16.95. When I ordered on line this week I was able to buy single 5 x 7's which I do not think were available in the photo centers at the park. I was not greatly impressed with the quality of the pics. I agree with one of the earlier posters. Take your camera and try to capture the same pics. When we had our 7 rolls of film developed many of our pictures were much better than the "professional" ones. The only thing you can't duplicate are the characters and pixie dust.

Actually you can see them onsite, at least in the MK....not sure about the other parks. Can't remember the name of the shop but it's right beside Tony's Town Square restaurant...it's where you picked up pictures under the old system. But they will only have the pictures that were taken in the Magic Kingdom, which is kind of weird.

The prices are $12.95 for a 5x7. First, the pics they took of us weren't that great. I totally forgot to have them take a pic with my own camera so stupid me :(

I ended up doing the print screen on computer and pasting it into Paint and going to try to print my own small pictures. I don't need a 5x7 of any of these photos.
