Photopass Questions

Am considering ordering the photopass preorder CD but have a few questions...
1. How early can you purchase it?
2. How long do you have until it needs to be finalised with all the photos and posted to you? We are likely to be busy doing other travel for about a few weeks after and would hate to lose the photos because we can't access them.
3. If you activate them online (to view them) while on holidays is that when the coutdown begins for them to be edited and eventually deleted? Again would hate for them to be deleted before we arrive home.
4. Any other tips/help/advice about photopass would be great :)

Last time I went to WDW I used the photopass photographers but also had them take photos with my camera and after viewing them all felt I was more than happy with my own and didn't see the need to purchase them. But am thinking it might be useful with having the baby this time...

I've pre-ordered the cd multiple times. The website states there is no expiry date for the credit & if you are unhappy with your photos, they will refund you your money. The pre-order price is increasing in a couple days, so you may want to buy now. There is a limited time to claim your photos after they are taken. Then once they are on your account, you have 30 days before they expire. Disney will let you extend the expiry date: 7days is $5, 14 days is $9.95. I kept extending mine for months while I finished my photobook. My advice is to get tons taken. I start at one end of Main Street and hit every photographer up to the castle. Some photographers are much better than others, some really relate to kids so you get a better photo. The castle night shots are awesome too. :thumbsup2

The website stitchkingdom.com has a great photopass "definitive guide" section. Don't forget to ask the photographers if they will do "magic shots".

Also, last time I chose the photo download instead of the cd. That way you just download the photos straight to your computer & don't have to pay postage. You can download them multiple times & they give you a 10-14 day window to do it. I know there is a certain limit for the # of pictures for the download, I had over 450 & it was no problem.

Hope you have a good trip!:)

I recently went to WDW in Jan and Feb and ran into this. I had purchased the CD before the Jan 8th trip, but wanted to know if I could get the Feb. 24th trip on the same cd.

I emailed them and was told the photos must my claimed (aka enter the photo pass # into your account) within 30 days of your trip, THEN you have 30 days to edit and request the CD before you would have to pay for the extension.

So for my dates, I "claimed" the photos on Feb. 7th to be safe and then edited the Feb photos and requested the final cd on March 7th. So you could have 60 days total to work with.
