PhotoPass Question

Hi all,
Since they made the ridiculous changes to the PP+ it got me to thinking.....when you meet with a cast member who has their professional camera and they scan the card and give it to you so you can give it to other cast members across the parks, how long are those photos on that card good for and can you only use that card they give you on one day only or can you use it for the duration of your trip and then decide on the pictures after your trip is over?

Thanks!

Yes, once you get the first card from a PP photographer you can continue to have additional photographers scan any photos they take on that card. Then you only have the one card to add to your account. I'd add them onto my account at the end of each day in case some are missing or don't show up at least within 24 hours though - then you can have that dealt with prior to leaving the park.

Would I then have to purchase the photos at the park before leaving or can I access them for a certain amount of time afterwards on the website on the back of the card?
Only reason I ask is because when I had bought the PP+ last year with our trip I was able to access the photos for 30 days since I had prepaid for the PP+ and then order any and all photos I wanted afterwards when I was home to look at all the photos and then sent on a disc to me upon selecting all the photos I wanted.

Thanks!

The photos are available in your account for 45 days.
Yes, you can use the same card for the duration of your trip. Take note of any ride photo #'s as well (make sure you get the letter in front), and add these to your account too.

You can also access the photos via the Disneyland App. Click the mickey head at the bottom to create/sign in to your Disney account and you can scan your pp code with your phone or you can have the photographer scan the code on your card to link them to your account right away. It will sort the photos by date taken and you can quickly see if you have enough that one day to purchase a full day. You can also type in the ride codes! The app is so awesome. I keep singing its praises, but honestly so amazing.

So you purchase each day of pictures?
You can purchase individual photo downloads (not printed photos) for $12.95 each or you can get the entire day of photos for $39. No more CDs and I cannot remember if the rides offered prints still. Probably. I know our friends chose a photo download at one of the rides as it was the cheapest option and planned to make a print at Costco.
I have purchased the PP+ as a pre-order prior to all our past trips so was very disappointed in the new system. I expect I will get used to it, but I noticed we stopped for fewer photos this time. There was one day that had a higher number of photos taken so I purchased that entire day and I purchased two photos from other days. Spending about the same amount for 10ish pictures as I used to spend on hundreds. I suppose a smart money move on their part unless we all stop participating in the program.

edited to add: We stopped for fewer photos because I knew I would be tempted to buy each day of photos if we had a lot of good ones and it wasn't in our budget to spend $150 on photopass photos.

Didn't know about the app and being able to get all the photos via it, that's good info.

What I think the plan would be is do as many ride/character photos in a single day as possible and then just buy that day's photos if I really want them OR take my own nice camera and take the photos on that one and not even bother messing with their photos just as protest for them making this stupid decision.....

WOW! I am so disappointed. I use to always by the CD and like you said have tons of pictures! SO basically I need to do all of the meet and greets and photos on the same day as to not pay a huge amount of money. Some one was talking about an App for this. Is that for everyone or just Ap holders? Does anyone know they name of it so I can look it up? Thanks for all the info!

It is the Disneyland app. You can see your photos on the app now and either purchase PP+ One Day ahead of time, or after the fact. Your photos will be available to you for 45 days. You have to scan the photopass card to get your photos into the app.

Yes! Just the DL app and it is also a huge timesaver for rides also! If you click on the wait time number on the map page, it will open a white rectangle box that names the ride and tells the wait....then click that rectangle and you will get another page that shows the fp distribution time for that ride. Saved us hiking all across the park for a fp during our lunch reservation or parade or whatever we had planned. Love the app! Had heard others talk about it, but had no idea how useful it would be for planning ride times and using it for photos is a plus.
