Our trip is in a little less then 3 weeks, so I have to decide soon. It will be our first trip in almost 8 years. If I buy the less expensive photo pass package, when I get home can I upload the photos to Shutterfly and order the sizes and prints I want? Any other suggestions? I would rather not drag around our camera during the trip and was hoping to get by with photopass.

Thanks,
Chrissy

If you buy the less expensive PP package it includes a CD of all your photos and you wouldn't need to buy additional prints. You can get multiple sizes on the CD.

If you don't pre order the PP, use it, and come home to order prints it is pretty expensive. You can do it, but I think it's roughly $15 for a print or two. You'd be better off purchasing the CD at the discounted rate and taking all the pictures you can while on your trip!

If you use PP or PP+, when you come home & edit, make sure you save each picture in different sizes so you can print from another source. If you leave them all in 4x6 form and want to print an 8x10, it will get cropped and not print properly. I saved each picture in 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 just in case. When you get the CD mailed to you with all your edits, you can print whatever you want from where ever you want. Make sure to send the copyright release to the place you're getting them printed as well.

I would highly recommend that you take your camera anyway AND pre-order the PhotoPass CD or PhotoPass+ before you go. PhotoPass is awesome but they are only located in certain areas--all the best places to get family pictures. They're all along Main Street and in front of the castle. They're on both sides of the geosphere, etc.

The problem is that they aren't everywhere. If you want a picture of your kids in front of the river boat (for example) or eating a dripping ice cream treat, there won't be photopass photographers there to take it.

If you're going to get PhotoPass+, DO IT NOW!!! It needs to be ordered in plenty of time for the voucher to arrive. I think that's 14 days before your vacation.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I am going to skip the photopass and just take my camera.

We did get the photopass + for the first time this trip as an additional fun thing to do. Last summer I went on a cruise and the cost of 10 digital downloads was $149 which made me look again at the photopass. I wouldn't ever go without my own camera. My daughter loves the character meet and greets. It was good getting the photos there but a good number don't have photopass photographers. The character meals we went to at CP and GG didn't have photographers and others won't be at your table. In the past I've found the PP will take a photo with my own camera.

I'm not a big fan of carrying around my camera so we LOVED photopass +. We bought it for our trip last year and will again this year! I love having all the prints from character meals (we got an extra set at CRT and ohana's) and love having the ride photos. We ended up with over 400 pictures from our 4 day Disney trip. Totally worth it!
