Photopass Question

Good point about Jedi Training. There is a photopass photographer there snapping pictures of all participating kids. Since they wouldn't know who's who, they ask that you bring your kid(s) to the photo store on Main Street if you want the picture(s) added onto your photopass card. The kids(s) on the photo must be there for identification purposes.

I forgot to bring my DD6 with me to the Photopass store and they ID'ed my kid from the other picts on my Photopass card (and from me describing her outfit). Their picts were so much better than mine, though I did get some of her before she went onstage that they didn't take picts of.

Make sure you seek out the photographers at night. One of our favorite times is right after they reopen the castle after the fireworks. There is usually also a photographer over by Space Mountain at night before the fireworks.

Totally missed those! I DID look for PP photographers at night, but I guess it was too close around the fireworks. Oh well, there's always next trip.

The Photopass CD is pretty reasonable, I think it's $59. SO reasonable compared to a Photo CD on a Disney Cruise...LOL.

I haven't seen any discount codes, but definitely check on the CD you can purchase for $59 at the park that has all of the stock photos plus a coupon for your PP CD that you order from home, and you DO definitely want to order your PP CD from home, don't get it in the park or you can't put borders and all of the other fun things on it.

Two years ago we got some great night shots with the lit up Mickey Wheel in the background, but last year they pulled a lot of the photographers as WOC crowd control. Not sure if they are back to being photographers again, but that was a big disappointment.

Oh, thank you! :goodvibes

I definitely want borders, so pre-purchase we go.

I hope the night ones are still there. I figure they have way better cameras than mine and get better clearer pictures.

I have to do more research and find out where the Photopass photogs hng out. :goodvibes

Thanks for the information but want to make sure that I understand everything. We can get a CD for $59 of all our stock photos and it's there that they will give us a coupon for our PP CD once we get home or do we order our PP CD before we head to DL? Also, this will sound really dumb but what does PP stand for?

Thanks,

meg

OP here. Okay, forget for my friend, I'm going to use this for myself! I really didn't know the Photopass had so much to offer. This is great. I guess I have never really noticed the photographers except at the main locations i.e. castle, head of main street, kind of places. The Jedi Training and character interaction would be great because, like has already been said, you can actually enjoy it instead of watching behind a lens.

Thanks for the added information!

There's no advantage to pre-purchasing the CD at Disneyland, so why doesn't she go and get photos taken and see how many she has by the end of the trip in order to decide if it's worth it?

IMO, we make a point to always take advantage of every PP photo op we can, and we generally have a lot of photos by the end of the visit, enough to totally make it worth it. But we work at it. I love photos with the entire family rather than just a few of us, and I *love* the night shots.

This. It's free to hold the photopass card and to see what they come up with. You're out nothing if you don't want them.

Tell her, also, that Photopass photographers are SUPER nice about taking pics with your camera. They get paid either way. They know their way around all types as well. :) Some of my fave pics have been those that PP Photogs took with my own camera.
