Photopass question

Hi everyone. I used a fellow Dis'er's tip and pre-ordered the Disney Photopass cd. 3 families are splitting the cost. :) I successfully entered in all of everyone's Photopass cards and have had a lot of fun editing and enhancing pictures with the borders. After finishing all my editing and enhancing to the Photopass pictures, I uploaded pix from my camera, hoping to enhance these also. After the sucessful upload, I noticed that the borders are not the same borders offered for the Photopass pictures. How disappointing. Is there anyway to use the Photopass borders for my own pictures? :confused3 I tried to put my own pix in the MK album but it wouldn't let me. I am bummed, and won't bother adding in pix from the other 2 families if I can only use the limited and kind of ugly generic borders. I especially wanted to use the Star Wars borders on some of my own pix, as both grandkids got picked for Jedi Academy, and my shots are better than the Photopass guys. Any way to do this?

Not to my knowledge -- I don't believe you can do this.

If you notice, Disney alters the borders available according to the location the pic was snapped at too. That bothered me as I wanted a one they had available for an Epcot pic on a MK pic for which all they gave me were halloween edgings.

A work-around for you, although it takes time and software, is to order a copy of a pic they snapped with the border you want - when it arrives, use adobe to select & clip the border out of that image and add it to your own

BTW - I agree with using self-shot photos. Many of the photographers don't take very good shots. My would-be favorite of myself & kids at the fountain in France came through totally unfocused (I can't even tell what he focused on) & apparently getting feet in pic was more important then the tower. There are so many people out there who can use a camera, why don't they put them in these roles?

I was very excited about using the photo pass website to create the photo album, I love scrapbooking, but I never have time. Do you think the album on photo pass is worth the money?

Also be aware that any pics you upload of your own will not be on the CD, so the only reason you'd want to add a border to them anyway would be if you were ordering a print. Since you're already ordering the CD, I couldn't see anyone wanting to pay for a print at Disney's prices. :confused3

I have a question with the sharing of photopass cd. How do you share the CDS? Are there a mixture of the other families on the CD or does each get their own CD. Just curious about this because I was thinking of sharing a CD with a friend.

I misunderstood this, I thought that they would be on my cd!!

I highly recommend checking out your photos at DTD before you leave. They will do amazing things and save them on your CD. It saves tons of time and they don't have as many rules as the website does.

Unless things have changed very recently (since Oct. 2 when I was there), any edits that are done while at WDW will not show up on the online account and will not be on the CD you ordered. I can't say whether or not the edits they'd do would be on the CD if you ordered it from them there. Did you order the CD there at DTD and have the edited pics on the CD?

Have you checked the DISigns boards here? There are threads wtih borders made by Dis-ers you can use on your own pictures for this exact reason. It's pretty easy and there are some amazing borders there.

Can someone point me towards this? I've searched, and can't find anything.
Thanks!!
