Photopass Question for first-timer

Hi Everyone,

We are headed to Aulani & then to Disneyland & noticed that both offered the Photopass service. How many days can you be at Disney & add to your pass? Could I purchase a Photopass when we are at Aulani for 2 nights & then continue to use the same pass at Disneyland a week later for 5 days? Or will we need 2 separate ones?

This is my first Disney trip & we are so excited. We are coming from Australia so not sure if they send the Photopasses here. Would it be best just to pay the full price once we get to Hawaii?

On another note we will be at Aulani at Christmas so if anyone has any been there at Christmas please let me know what its like & if they have something special on at Christmas time that we would enjoy. A family of 4 with 7 & 9 year old children.

I have posted a few questions here since booking our trip & it is just great to get peoples responses. This is a once in a lifetime trip for us so I just want it to be perfect.

Hey there - I've asked the same question and unfortunately you need 2 separate photo passes. We are from Australia too (actually doing DL & Aulani next month) I ordered my Photo Pass Plus a while back for DL as you will get it for a special price if you do order prior to your trip, a $30 saving I believe plus other bonus features like character meal photos and ride photos included. You may find that you don't need the Photo Pass for Aulani especially for 2 nights. If you give them your camera they will happily take photos with it for you with the characters, unless you have kids going into activities in Aunty's Beach house then the PP comes in handy for photos of them doing activities that you book them into like the space goo and volcano making. Aulani likely does have special things on over Xmas, they do for Halloween. Check out their website and go to 'Activities' then 'Seasonal Events' for details. Have a wonderful time! DL Photo Pass can be added to for 14 days from when you activate it. You can purchase the Aulani one on arrival as they have no special deals to order prior. Your kids are the same age as mine, they will love both places!

Thank you so much. I will probably not bother at Aulani then for only 2 days. I will just use my own camera. Thank you for the link. I will probably order this soon so I have it ready to go & save a bit of $. I will have to read up more about it so I know when to activate it & how to get my photos when I come back home. Hope you & your family have a great time! My kids don't know yet - it's a surprise so I cant wait to see their faces when I tell them.

I also recommend the PP+ for DLR...and pre-ordering it. The pre-order price is $69.95. In the parks, you pay $99.95.
There is no discount or pre-order option for the Aulani PP. You take your pictures, and at the end of your trip, you go to the gift shop and purchase the PP CD. They burn it right there. Depending on how many others are trying to do the same thing, the process could be a little time consuming.
