Hi there,
We are going to WDW in 2 weeks, and we're considering using the Photopass CD system, and have found a pre order discount code.
I know how it works re the photographers in the park etc, and that you can edit/print the photos yourselves at home etc.
What I'm not clear about is the CD package - do you get the CD posted out to you after or do you get it before you leave?
If any other UK DISers have pre ordered this Photopass CD system and used it, we would appreciate your feedback. Many thanks

You get the cd posted out to you after you have altered the pictures, put borders on them etc. After you have finalised your order it takes roughly a week to arrive.
We did it in July and got the cd this week. Well worth the money in my opinion as you get all the family on the pictures.

Once you're back home, I take it you just sign into Photopass website, edit as you want, and when you're happy with edits etc, you just finalise your order?
Thanks

We used the Photopass pre-order discount code for our trip Oct '07 and there were no problems. When we got back from our trip we edited the photos online and then ordered the disc. It was shipped right away. It couldn't have been easier and the photos were outstanding! I would highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Hope that you have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Yes, just sign in and add all the photopass card numbers and then you can edit them. You will get the original picture and then if you decide to put a border on you get that one as well. After adding the photopass numbers it gives you a date under the picture to finalize by, i think it was 30 days. Does that make sense? We had 690 pictures (there were 6 families altogether) but after editing we had 1261 pictures. They came on 3 cd's with the permission to copy them on the cd and a leaflet.
Another two couples in the group ordered a photo-book and they came the day after the cd's.

If you are not satisfied with the pictures you can claim a full refund, nothing to lose really.

Don't forget to add the pictures from Test track ride. I think that is still the only ride picture you can add to it.

Be really careful with your photopass. I was a cast member at Walt Disney World and I worked photopass a few times. I encountered a fair few families who had got their photopass mixed up with another family. Usually the cast member at the attractions fault but of course I was the one who got blamed :-(

If it happens to you Disney can find your photos if you know what time and place you were at the location... but it's a lot of hassle for you if you collected a lot of photographs on it. So just an extra eye on your pass ;-)

As everyone else said though... the CD is a great idea! Best value if you get a lot of photos put onto it!

Thanks Tashasmum and Catherine. I had spent a while reading up on Photopass but its always good to hear from folk who have actually used it successfully. I will watch out for the cm's as well Cowza. It'll be good to finally have some pics where I am actually in the shot too instead of being the one behind the camera

We always manage to pick up a few cards, and every time we get a new one, we write down the card number on a separate piece of paper and keep it safe. That way, if we did lose it, or it got switched with another families accidentally, we would still be able to access our photos.

Can't wait to start editing pictures this year! Last year we didn't pre-order and just bought there. This year we have pre-ordered and will be taking laptop so will edit while we're there! Then probably have it shipped home the same time we get shipped home :rotfl:

Hey Twilight

I am taking my laptop too so if I can get online I may well do some editing whilst in Disney too. Will be good to be able to backup the images I take myself as well. Took about 600 myself the last time but plan to beat that easily this trip.

Yes, I like to take the laptop for a number of reasons, the main one being that 3 4GB cards would NOT last me a couple of days, let alone a fortnight! Plus, our dad will be at home and watching online for our adventures in photo form, so we normally activate our photopass cards pretty much after the first set of photos. Okay, so we are limiting the time we have them available once we get home, but most editing and whatnot will be done while away and in Disney anyway, so it's not too much hassle for us. Plus, dad can then log in and see what's going on!

Hiya Di :wave2:

How did you pre-order the Photopass and gain a discount code ?

I have looked at the web-site but I seem slightly confused:confused3

:flower3:

We are going to WDW at the beginning of December. Does anybody know if at this time of year you need to queue for long to get your photopass photos taken or are there plenty of photographers. I like the idea of photpass but not if it involves much waiting around.
Thanks Val

The only time we've had to wait for photopass photographers has been at character meets, but that was because of the characters not the photographers. Never waited more than 1 family in the daytime, and the only time we were third family in the queue was on PPP night when they were doing photos in the gardens just to the right of the castle, with the castle all lit up in the background. Special night + special photo = tiny queue. That was the only time though.

Thanks, that's great news, I was imagining us spending half the day in queues just to get our moneys worth out of photopass :)

Does anyone know if you can share photopass with another family. We are visiting WDW one week and then cruising and our friends are visiting the parks after the cruise. Could we share a photopass CD with them and share the cost? Thanks.
