Photopass or not?

It doesn't cost anything to get a photopass card. The photographers will take pictures with it and use your own camera too. Once you get home you can check them out online and decide to purchase or not.

If you are considering a prepurchase, I know there's an offer now for the plus...

for this deal, I'd say if you will be there at least a week, will be doing the dining and the rides included at the bottom of the offer. With the regular photopass , it can be worth it (only when compared to buying ...what? 7 pictures or more that are on your photopass) We only had maybe 25 pictures and we ended up with the same ones on our own camera so...not worth it for this last trip. We are contemplating this above offer for our trip in Dec. - for 13 nights so, I'm thinking it might be worth it. I just don't want to feel forced to stand in lines for pictures just to get my money's worth, character meets or, at the photo stand after the rides.

They are more than worth it for me (and CMs do offer or will agree to take pics with your camera). We stop at every location at all different times of day and night to get multiple pictures (we always end up with well over 100). It's one of my two souvenirs every trip, so I love it. But yes, you can decide to get it after you get home if you choose. We've ended up with some great pictures and I make photo books at a publishing site after I get home, combining my candids with the photopass shots - they tell a great story!

We pre-purchased the regular photopass CD for our trip this past January. It was SO worth the price... we got 320 photos on it! Plus you can edit the photos online and add special Disney graphics/borders to them before they are added to your CD. (More Disney magic: When we checked our photopass account, Disney had thrown in about 30 additional free photos of characters that were appropos to whatever venue we happened to be in at the time. Nice touch!)

Definitely worth the price... especially for those times we didn't have our camera ready or the batteries were dead or the card was full, etc.

Our trip was in January and I registered our photopass card before we left home. I didn't pre-purchase the cd. I wish I had. The Disney photographers took over 500 pics of our family. I was very pleased with all of them. We did purchase the cd when we got home. Next time we are going to purchase the photopass plus. We have young kids and attend alot of character meals.

Is it worth it to get photopass? Will Cm's take pics with your own camera?

I was having the same debate before we went on our trip earlier this month..
Here's what I have to say about photopass:

Most of the photographers are decent- some are professionals, others are amateurs- but most end up taking pretty great pictures!

If you don't think you will want to stop randomly in the parks and have your picture taken, it might not be worth the money

Photopass offers you a great way to insure that everyone gets in the photo- not just part of your group

The photographers will take pictures with your camera as well (that way, you have the pictures anyways if you decide to get a refund)

If you decide to order- try to pre-order the photo-cd!! It will save you at least $50!

We ultimately decided to order the regular Photopass- and actually had a lot of fun finding the photographers and stopping for pictures. It was really nice being able to have both of us in the shots (rather than just solo images). Plus, most of the photographers are located amidst wonderful backdrops- so the pictures are keepers no matter how funny your faces look!

Looking back, we had wished that we purchased Photopass+- simply for the added bonus of Ride Photos. If you intend on riding the listed attractions where + is offered (or at character restaurants), I wouldn't hesitate with that upgrade!

Have fun! :thumbsup2

My opinion is that it's worth it. There's pics you just can't get by yourself without finding someone to take the pic for you. It allowed me to enjoy the trip with my family more than I imagined!

We also got the photobook which we were amazingly pleased with!

There are also photographers in the WaterParks - great alternative if you don't have a waterproof case for your camera, or are concerned about carrying a camera in a water park.

Also, purchasing photos from the photographers are also the only way to get any of the "magic shots" - another reason to go with the CD!
