I had not seen anything posted about this, so my apologies if it has been.
We had memory maker and stopped at quite a few photopass photographers. My kids love the magic shots, so I often asked if they had any. Several times I was told they were really cutting back on those, although now they are automatically doing some if you have memory maker.
We were able to get Sebastian in MK by Ariel's ride, Tink on MK main street, timon/simba/pumba on the ground at AK in front of the tree, and ballons by the tree at Epcot in American Adventure pavilion.
Automatic ones included were adding lost boys to our picture on MK main street (video and still image), being sprinkled by pixie dust with Tink flying overhead at Epcot by spaceship earth (video and still imagine), ride video of SDMT and ToT (super cool!), putting us in a snow globe at DHS in front of theater, and adding monsters to our pictures by pixar sign by toy story ride at DHS (video and still images).
I loved the additions of the little videos. I was happy with all our photopass experiences. We ended up with over 500 pictures thanks to stopping lots and visiting lots of characters.
