I had not seen anything posted about this, so my apologies if it has been.

We had memory maker and stopped at quite a few photopass photographers. My kids love the magic shots, so I often asked if they had any. Several times I was told they were really cutting back on those, although now they are automatically doing some if you have memory maker.

We were able to get Sebastian in MK by Ariel's ride, Tink on MK main street, timon/simba/pumba on the ground at AK in front of the tree, and ballons by the tree at Epcot in American Adventure pavilion.

Automatic ones included were adding lost boys to our picture on MK main street (video and still image), being sprinkled by pixie dust with Tink flying overhead at Epcot by spaceship earth (video and still imagine), ride video of SDMT and ToT (super cool!), putting us in a snow globe at DHS in front of theater, and adding monsters to our pictures by pixar sign by toy story ride at DHS (video and still images).

I loved the additions of the little videos. I was happy with all our photopass experiences. We ended up with over 500 pictures thanks to stopping lots and visiting lots of characters.

We loved the videos too. Had them for ToT, 7DMT, and the Christmas party.

Did they say why they were cutting back on the magic shots!? That makes me sad!!

We loved the magic shot videos too. At the AK Christmas tree we got a really cute one involving the trolls from Frozen; at DHS Christmas tree Sven jumping around with Christmas lights in his antlers; and at BTMRR, Woody and Jesse dancing!

I hope they are not cutting down, personally if anything I feel they should offer a lot more magic shots than they currently do. Think of all they could offer considering all the Disney characters they have.

My favorite from this summer was Pascal from tangled we got him at AK, the lion king characters at AK, and Sebastian near Ariel's castle. I wanted to get Mrs. potts but didn't, hopefully this summer.

I got Chip by Gaston's. I will have to remember about Sebastian - I would love that one! We got the video with Olaf on the bridge by Tomorrowland.

I recently purchased Memory Maker for our trip in April. We've never had it before. What are some tips to get the most out of it?

I just got back and found an unbelievably cool spot for photos... Right between Ariel meet and greet and Under the Sea. I came upon a photographer during Wishes! He took 19 shots of my 3 year old and I. It was pretty cool to get a good chunk of the show recorded that way!

Stop at a lot of the photographers and you can mention you bought memory maker and if they have a camera that is not on a tripod you can ask if they have magic shots.

If you meet characters (and characters are a great way to get a lot of PhotoPass photos), mention to the photographer that you have purchased Memory Maker and say something like, "So please feel free to shoot away!" Sometimes - not always - the photographer will then take more candid shots.

To get the most of it, take a lot of pictures. My DH hates taking pictures, but just so I get my $$ worth, he will stop and take a picture most times when we see the Disney photographers. Also, ask the photographers not only if they do magic shots, but what kinds. Some would tell me "tinkerbell" but when I asked if they did any others I found out they did more.

Also I got the butterflies and Stitch magic shots at downtown Disney (the photographer was standing front of the huge Disney merchandise store that's right next door to the Lego store),

Like all other things involving humans, the amount of effort you get will vary from photographer to photographer. I have had some awesome photographers, that have done amazing things, and I have had a few lazy chumps. A true photographer enjoys pushing the shutter button, and isn't complete unless they are. Find one of those guys and they will show you the joy of doing a job. I have found a few that kinda made me feel bad because they wanted to shoot more, and we wanted to move on.... god problems to have.
